Also a lot of big companies would rather outsource to those skilled workers in their home country and pay a local salary.

Like, I can totally admit and accept that a bunch of immigrants flooding into a mainly stagnant and settled economy and society is potentially a bad thing, but America relies on constant expansionism to grow GDP to grow the reach of the dollar and to continue pressing as the worlds global super power.

You need H-1B equivalents for nurses, hospitality workers, agricultural workers and so on. Not capped by country, the filter should be on the people quality / match with the american economy needs.
Democrats are not even tabling sensible plans to let fast food chains import tens of thousands of legal immigrant to fill positions that need to be filled. they prolong the illegal stay of people with random, unknown or non-existent skill set and work attitude, which can't be sent away if they end up being bad workers

I can only speak from an American pov where these immigrants are largely from Latin America and there is no way I'm going to question their work ethic. The vast majority are coming to work as many jobs as they can and better their lives and don't have the luxury of waiting for a Congress working in underwater man speed while fighting over identity politics to build them a pathway.
Maybe Trump wins today and he can show us what he has. Wasn't overly impressed with his efficiency last time around but it was his 1st time.
