Joe Rogan
As an aside the way the sharks are now circling for Rogan, I find despicable but also template.
I think it is exactly why
These βyou pushed these people into the open arms of fascismβ arguments are so weightless and flimsy. Just pure hand waving of individual agency.
Well it isn't that flimsy considering that it is exactly what happened in reality. But I understand yourargument.
The issues that Americans actually care about and move voters are the economy and public safety, full stop. You could definitely argue that Trump's campaign better capitalized on peopleβs fears and frustrations, even if it was mosty from a channel of lies, but the swing voters don't actually know the difference and
they are going to be taken in by anyone who focuses more on those particular issues.
Mamdani's approach was different, he talked specifically about isolated material problems like transit costs and utilities and how to bring down rent prices as opposed to focusing on empty talking points about equity and social justice or saying that the economy is actually fine (when it mostly was) and that it is Trump and the republican party and his base that needs to be safeguarded against. No potential swing voter is going to find any of that particularly motivating. Harris did acknowledge some of those issues but I don't think drove them home the way that she should have.
But again, the whole ballgame is building a constituency through inspiration, and I think accomplishing that is a different strategy than always saying what's right or trying to prove someone else's wrong. But I think the party is still making a lot of other disastrous tactics that they are unaware of or just cant help themselves so it really doesn't matter anyway to have this discussion. But i guess they have madr improvements. But until it changes, we get Trump and whoever is after him. Maybe Trump again.

Nice post, agree with it all
Quite so.
Anyway just to be clear, i think Rogan is utter trash and was even before he became "pseudo-trumpist" and gave a platform to utter trash people (including a ton of antisemites and deranged conspirationists).
I don't personally know if Harris would have benefited from going to talk live with Rogan for hours.
Harris couldn't even go an hour with Bret Baier iirc. No way she could do 2 hours with Rogan. She was smart imo to not do the interview with Rogan.
What i know is that "democrats don't campaign in Texas" was a terrible post hoc attempt to justify something that had no basis in reality.
Obviously.
He absolutely used to be a Bernie bro, but covid broke his brain. He just looks, sounds, and most importantly, FEELS different than he did before 2021
He's always been susceptible to conspiracy mindset. One of my earliest non-TV-show memories of Joe Rogan (I remember him from News Radio and Fear Factor first) was him spreading moon landing hoax BS. He was impervious to facts even then. His brain has always been broken.
If your leftist ideology is so flimsy that a few internet trolls makes you not only vote trump, but full throated endorse him, well, I think that implies a whole list of negative things about that individual.
If he truly believes in climate change and social programs then voting and endorsing trump was truly ******ed
Is it climate change or because a day has gone from 23 hours and 56 minutes too 24 hours and 2 minutes.
Could it be that we are in the last ten seconds of the life of the universe?

I think it's from the moon's pull, causing the Earth to rotate slower over time. In the Ordovician period, a day was only 21 hours.

Yeah, that's the main reason, specifically energy coupling between the angular momentum of the Earth, Moon and energy dissipated from the system as tides and heat.

You are arguing that Trump ran a better campaign which is true but a weird goalpost shift from any sort of argument I was making. Congratulations though
man you said
she wasn't going to go to Texas because a Democrat campaigning in Texas is pointless
You didn't even know she went to Houston until i told you.
Apologize and admit you talked with no knowledge of the topic
"she wasn't going to go" as in she was not going to go to Texas (but then she ended up going). Its called context of the conversation
You don't even speak english. Get on yer bike
