I nevr understand this obsession with 'demands'

They're largely irrelevent. If that's the biggest problem then there isn't one.

by Dunyain m

The biggest problem with the SJP protests and why even the most sympathetic administrators cant do anything to appease them is that the demands are completely absurd and divorced from reality. They are demanding that their schools divest from Blackrock and Vanguard and somehow force Israel to unilaterally "ceasefire" and allow right of return for 5 million Palestinians. It is c

divestment campaigns actually can and do work

At least victor is willing to wear his hate with pride

Is that a reply to my post? So how should the administration react when SJP explicitly states they will be so disruptive that the campus has to effectively shut down until specific demands are met, and the demands themselves are completely outside the scope of any reasonable action the administration could make?

I'm too far away so dunno but exactly the same as if they hadn't made any specific demands

lol do you even read the **** you post??

by microbet m

Even more amazing when it comes from mongodig or lucium who actually do want to run over or otherwise kill protesters.

Don't underestimate the British and their love of violence against protestors.

by gs3737 m

lol do you even read the **** you post??

I mean, Im assuming they wont accept this offer. if they do, then I will be happily wrong.

but I think we all know that Israel's response will probably another hospital massacre or something. thats generally how they respond to reasonable offers.

30 prisoners for 1 civilian hostage is a reasonable offer???

lol even you don’t believe that ****

Instead of dressing in England flag clothes, the protestors should have dressed as Al Qaida, so the police would leave them alone.

In the USA if you want the police to leave you alone you can wear Nazi gear, carry tiki torches, or shoot up elementary schools in Texas.

by Luciom m

Because as a sovereign state they can decide what qualifies.Same as Italy allow people with Italians great-great-great parents to take citizenship. That doesn't make those people ethnically Italian because there isn't one specific Italian ethnicity. Ethnically italian doesn't mean anything.Race isn't bullshit when properly defined (ancestor commonality over a lot of generations)

You've defined nationality (or the country you've cited has defined it), not race.

no, its heavily slanted in Israel's favor. if it was truly fair, then just about every Palestinian taken hostage would be returned.

children like this ofc should not be tortured and raped in Israeli prisons.

Israel released 1027 prisoners for Gilad Shalit in 2011.

You have no idea what you're talking about. Some of your innocent protestors dressed in "England flag clothes" (lol wtf is that?) attacked the police and a horse on St George's Day, because they are morons with nothing better to do and they think this best expresses their "Englishness".

by metsandfinsfan m

The next time i see a big college protest about how Iran treats anybody, I'll send you a dollar

If my government gave Iran four billion a year to enforce the chador, I'd be picketing in a minute.

A meeting of the shadow cabinet?

Your government supplies many many billions in weapons as well as embeds lots of contractors into the military of Saudi Arabia and they are using it to kill hundreds of thousands of people in Yemen.

Now, I'm not accusing most people of protesting Israel because of Jews (though some are for sure), but your reasons given for who is or is not protested are not exactly right.

No matter how many times you spew your bull****, it’s still just that.
