It's been a long time since bible studies but I'm 99.99% the Old Testament and some parts of the Torah that didn't make it into the Catholic Bible, have verses on being fair and just toward your enemies because: 1. it's the right thing to do; 2. it's the best way to triumph over evil; 3. it's necessary to fight our own demons within.
Israel needs to do better.
It has been at times for sure. Operation Solomon and the like are maybe without equal in history.

There is huge evidence of the macabees. Not the 8 day wax myth but the macabees existed. And they were vicious

Yeah, that's one of the easiest ways to date when the bible was written with almost no work. Nothing it says in the Pentateuch is remotely historical, even about the most major figures like Moses, Abraham or Noah. Then it starts getting random non important stuff correct like the name of a minor Assyrian King who's Nephew took the throne because he died without a son during the reign of Nebuchadnezzar II.

Like the post was stating, it's unclear whether you actually believe some of the more obvious fictional tales in the Torah. You can either clearly state one way or the other, or continue to pretend to be some kind of victim.
