I have a history for being snapped banned after a mod says something like 'this smells like a troll post'. I also have history with ganstaman where they mod me unfairly. So my assumption here is GM was zeroing in on me again. I still feel thats true.
Ganstaman is 100% correct here, so I can see why he would wonder if you're just trolling. But rather than clarify in any meaningfully way, you accuse him of "over mod[ing]" you.
What is it you were hoping to achieve with this post? Are you suggesting that something needs to be done about uke posting "Have you never been to a pride parade? Yes kids are allowed in pride parades. Obviously."?
I'm suggesting that Uke guards the thread. And any time someone starts a balanced discussion Uke unbalances it purposefully against the spirit of proper dialogue.
The mods here have been modding for him in that thread, and its undeniable true, and just because the thread doesn't exist, doesn't mean the evidence doesn't exist.
I was not involved in any thread deletion so I actually don't know what you're talking about. And I'm definitely not modding the Ukraine/Russia thread the way that BGP wants. He has made many requests for moderation that I haven't done (generally regarding Victor), and I don't actually think he even reported any of your posts (which is how he makes his requests, just as every other poster can do).
Maybe don't ask ridiculous questions then? Nobody is doing some inspection of whether kids are in the "set" or not if their parents raise them in a non-binary way. These kids - any kids - are welcome to be part of any pride parade.
I would suggest some deep reflection on why this "question" is of importance to you. Ideally far away from an internet connection.
You see this is soft modding a thread, and its also calling STRAIGHT attention to me psyche.
I asked a very reasonable question from a philosophy standpoint. It should NEVER be that such a question is deemed 'unworthy' we should never be dismissive to people in this way.

I know you aren't aware, but the thread that got disappeared was FULL of invalid twitter sources making ridiculous claims from BGP and those were NOT getting mod by your requests of us only posting sources claims.

I only once gave you an infraction (it was a 0-point warning in August 2023). I don't recall ever banning you and don't see that I left a mod note on your profile which I would typically do when banning. It's a real stretch to say I'm over-modding you.

I am busy but will try to moderate this thread more closely for a while. Insinuating that BGP controls this thread in some way is false and not allowed. Saying that Russia was provoked into invading Ukraine is false and not allowed, short of some new facts or actual intelligent analysis. See you are going to say that a mod that makes these posts against me, who claims to never over mod me, and doesn't know what soft modding is, wasn't threatening me with moderation, when you said "it smells like a troll post". You maybe just meant like a funny troll post, not one that you are in the process of judging as a mod.
Ok, I think I understand what you mean when you say "soft moderate". Friend, I understand your frustration, but it might help to remember that mods are posters too, and we can't exactly turn our green name off for when we want to just make posts as posters. Sometimes we'll disagree with posters just as fellow posters. I really suggest that maybe shifting your perspective to more of a place where moderations aren't meant to be punitive, and we're more like trail guides just trying to keep our group together with minor corrections when someone gets into the weeds. I don't think anyone here has it out for you, not ganstaman or the mods, and I hope you can feel going forward a little less bothered with the occasional bump ins with mods. Again, I'm here and will listen if you'd like to message when things are feeling this way for you. ♥
I'm not sure what you're meaning here, but here's what I do when I think there's confusion about my post - I explain/elaborate.
My point is that your original question was pretty silly, or very poorly worded, or both. So I don't see his post as a "recharacterization that is intended to make me look bad", but an interpretation of a silly and/or poorly worded question that makes you look no worse.

It's certainly your choice whether you want to assume a mod is out to get you and reply as if he is, or simply clarify your point in a meaningfully way, but choosing the former isn't going to lead to very productive conversation.

You spend a lot of your time trying to police how people should be allowed to reply. Not just here, and not just on this account, but elsewhere in these forums, and on past accounts of yours. Maybe you should just try engaging in conversations, and when people seem confused by your posts, reflect on whether you have a role to play in that confusion.

Your question could never result in a balanced discussion. No one wanted to discuss it, everyone thought it was a ridiculous question, and it wasn't because anyone misrepresented you.

If you plan to comply with ganstaman's request, it doesn't really matter. You won't get banned.
For reasons that I have never understood, there are a lot of people here who are keen to know exactly how big a jackass they can be without getting banned.

I agree, it does seem very jackassey to make up rules that arent rules and then ask people to follow the non rules
