Seeing as we were told that there are special rules for interacting with you specifically, let me go ahead and say that you are SO SO SO smart. Everything you write is as clear as a sunny day in May! We are all blessed to be in the presence of somebody with such interesting ideas. To an outsider, your constant complaints about being unfairly targeted for moderation may scream "persecution complex", but here in Politics and Society 2024, we know better. I sincerely cannot wait to read more of your posts regarding this topic. Don't forget the old adage "Leave them wanting more... and giving it to them straight away!" Don't you dare even think about slowing down!

Hi friend, so just to clarify something, every rule applies to every poster, as does the expectation that posters treat one another with a reasonable level of respect and personal dignity.
There is no one above or beneath the rules of decorum. Everyone here is a person who deserves to be treated like a unique and valuable member of this community.
I intend to moderate with the same guidelines of respect, dignity, and fairness.

it is not fair to treat the people the same if one side is lying/being deceitful and other side is not. Unfortunately I do not think it will be possible for you to give respect and be fair to both sides

You know what we haven't had in a good long while? A nice long post about the genius of John Nash! It just feels like people don't appreciate him as much as they should. Don't you agree? 😀

Harass another user? The only person that should feel harassed here is ME. Here I am showing my appreciation for another poster, one that has been attacked by mods all day long, and you accuse me of harassment? I really wish you had put your wrong-hearted accusation in spoiler tags and warned me ahead of time that you were intending on hurting my feelings. Maybe that wasn't your intent at all, and I hope and pray that you can see my intent was not to harass jbouton, who is at least making this sub forum interesting again.

I would keep shouting if I had a reason to shout and it wasn't explicitly forbidden yes.

Possibly, but its very likely that the challenges he may be facing is directly correlated to social media, seeking attention through posting and his inability to stop. We all have that to a degree but mods have taken a comical approach of civility in assisting with his grievances and it only lead to a greater shitstorm.
Maybe letting the poster know that this place me not be best for him may be a better option rather than asking every other poster to be on their best behavior when it's overwhelmingly likely to make things worse for him and others.
... But I agree that smart ass comments aren't helpful either and I personally won't be doing that moving forward.
Why don't you just have a discussion with the mod that made the request and explain why you think that discussion should continue, rather than wasting everyone's time with this "is it in the rules?" nonsense?

Actually, respect is earned. I don't see why there is a rule, or expectation, that any poster should be treated with respect by any other poster. Also, whether any given poster is either unique or valuable is very much a matter of opinion.
The respect I am referring to is the respect for one's fellow man's basic humanity, which is never required to be earned by the recipient but rather is an ethical cornerstone for any moral participant in a society with others.
And the every person is a unique and valued member of the community thing is just, like, my opinion, not a rule obviously. You can blame John Donne for polluting my mind. The most well adjusted participants in any communal space are the people who feel seen and feel heard, that their feelings matter and that they matter. If everyone felt that way, there would be far less conflict imho.

I honestly think you are meaning well, but there is very obviously going to be disagreement in a politics forum. When disagreement is considered harassment or "stigmatizing mental health", then you are going way too far in your quest to be the niceness enforcer of the forum. I personally doubt that anybody posting in these forums (besides the now banned Lirva) would appreciate being branded by mods as having mental issues, so I really don't think you are doing anybody any favors in your quest of being extra nice. That's just my POV on it.
I find it odd that any mod would have the patience to deal with a poster who continuously and repeatedly complains about being treated unfairly when he clearly isn't, is incapable of formulating his thoughts in a coherent manner to communicate with other posters, and routinely ignores everything he is told by mods and others so he can repeat his baseless complaints ad nauseam, but if Crossnerd wants to do it, more power to her.
