I know this is mostly just memeing but I recently watched The Green Planet and the episode about aquatic plants talked about a lily that slowly choked out all its competition by blotting out the sun with an ever increasing number of massive pads

there are many plants who release chemicals that make it harder for other plants to grow nearby.
those are called allelopathic plants.
I had no clue that was a thing until I had a garden with rosemary plants and I realized under them, basically nothing grew (no grass even) , it was basically a wasteland of their dried leaves making land toxic to everything else.

Yep. I got a temp ban for saying something about Palestinians that was not nearly as bad as saying they were all trash. I remember Luciom got one for calling boat immigrants to Italy "garbage people" or something like that.

In the legal sense i suppose so, but the word has come to mean "massive amount of killing".
If you want to preserve the word to it's actual meaning ok, fair, let's use "extermination".
Symbiosis is another common occurrence yes, nature has both massive destruction as a strategy and occasionally cooperation among living beings.
But given any amount of killing is considered "bad" morally by some people , it quite funny to me everytime some of those same people appear to be "pro nature" in a moral sense, finding morality in nature and so on. Like vegetarians for ethical reasons who don't want others to kill wolves.
