The last iteration of the moderation discussion thread was a complete disaster. Numerous attempts to keep it on topic fa

The online bullying of Lagtight needs to stop asap
everyone who participated in the bullying and straight up harrasment
of geezerchess aka lagtight needs to be BANNED on the spot
or at least get a warning now

enough is enough this is getting ridiculous!!

Who dis?

by Land O Lakes

Who dis?

The german guy Washoe

by Land O Lakes

And this is why I called you a weasel. This is a forum, not a court of law.

I essentially agreed with the bolded part in the first paragraph of the post of mine you quoted the second paragraph from.

by rickroll

what was the basis of his claims?

He gave no basis whatsoever.

by checkraisdraw

I didn’t say he is one, I said people think he is one.

In my opinion, only someone whose mind is under demonic influence would say I am one.

Hey washoe.

Thanks for the support.

It's to be expected in a low-moderated forum like this though.

Maybe I can find out the real identify of Karl and sue him for libel! 😀

the irony of a permabanned user posting under an new account and complaining about insufficient moderation

good stuff

this is nearly as good as the people posting that we need to accept all "refugees" from non-war torn areas like belize because life is too hard there and then mock mong the next post calling him a coward for not wanting to spend time in a dangerous neighborhood in america

Except I'm not complaining about the moderation. I also didn't say that the moderation was "insufficient."

I just said that those false allegations against me are a negative consequence of a low-moderated forum.

I've said over and over that I like the moderation here overall.

back to your "it wouldn't surprise me if" cowardice

I won't dignify your garbage post with a response except to say that I am more than happy to let our dear readers determine who is being honest here and who isn't.

Edit: You're now on Ignore.

looks like you've just added another repression to your life 😀

I don't think you've ever been honest, not even once. But keep putting people on ignore, the more the better.

Organizations still in existence ( I think):

United Negro College Fund

National Association for the Advancement of Colored People.

Yes, those both serve to remind us that words now considered insulting were once proudly used by the people those words described.

by d2_e4

All this is reminding me of that time Victor called me "redacted" because leftists don't use the word ******, ldo.Oh, how we laughed. Good ****.Can't find it now, but Victor later said something like "I don't use that word" to which Rococo replied something along the lines of "That's as ridiculous as saying you don't say f@ggot, because you replace the "a" with an "@" every tim

This reminds me of how tired I am of hearing the phrase 'the n-word'.

If someone knows which word you mean, you have still placed in his brain the word you thought he was too sensitive to hear. And if someone doesn't know which word is meant, most likely a young person, they may be spurred to find out, which with some probability will lead him to start using that word, as he knows it is incendiary.

by Gorgonian

I truly hope you don't need it explained to you.

No, I know it's because illogical people believe it is fine to use dehumanizing language when referring to the generally more privileged segment of the population.

I only ever use that when I'm quoting someone and I don't want to offend or be controversial.

Sometimes you just gotta say it though. Like when quoting Pulp Fiction. Although you can also replace it with "ninjas" or "fellas" for comedic effect.

by Trolly McTrollson

No one in Portland uses the term "black" or "African-American?" come the **** on, bro.

You said that BIPOC was "the preferred term to describe Americans descended from those who came here from Africa." It clearly is no such thing.

"Black History Month" is a relic from times when black was the preferred term, just like the previously mentioned United Negro College Fund and the NAACP.

I go to events all the time where young people talk about racial discrimination. They never use the terms 'black' or 'African American' (or 'Hispanic' or 'Latino', or 'American Indian' or 'Native American').

They often use the term 'BIPOC'. Not spelling it out, but by pronouncing it as if it were not an acronym. (Similar to how radar and laser have become regular words).

"People are saying [that]."

I'm pretty sure he was referring to the former user Washoe there, not you.

When quoting someone is the only time I would use the actual word.

If you're trying to productively discuss the use of an offensive word, you shouldn't want to sugarcoat the quoted usage.

Also, Training Day. "My n-word" just doesn't really cut it.

Setting is everything, no?

Like saying "Yo, bitches!"

1. To a pack of female dogs: Technically correct, but a bit weird.
2. To your mates: Culturally appropriate, especially if Jonathan is present.
3. When looking for a fight: Context-dependent, but effective.
4. When offering condolences: Culturally inappropriate, even if Jonathan is present.
5. To the sales-team: Hell yeah.
6. To the HR-team: H̶e̶l̶l̶ no.
7. To the reporters on the TV-screen: Acceptable.
8. To the reporters holding the microphone: Questionable.
9. When hiding: Stupid
10. When you bought a round: Sure, but you could get away with so much worse.

Good post, byatch.
