ah just read, head of social security has resigned because DOGE wanted social security sensitive data and she refused to give them access, so Trump has nominated the president of a financial services company to take over.

So all that social security data. bank accounts, tax refunds etc available to head of a financial services company, should be fine. No conflict of interest, obv.

Fits right in with the guy in charge of health being a science-illiterate, and head of environment also in charge of a fracking company.

Privatizing is the solution !

Its pretty hilarious the right is on edge about DEI hires and Trumps entire cabinet is based on worship level and as far from legitimate merit as humanly possible

He did do it publicly. The phone call was recorded. He knew it would likely be released to the public at some stage.

It was not recorded by him. He never told the public he was doing it. He also (almost certainly) did it in other red swing states but hasn't admitted it because it hasn't been made public. And obviously you're going to defend that as well.

These children Elon is sending around the government are so dumb they can't tell the difference between a million and a billion.

Lol. That's like in Office Space where he says, "I must have put a decimal point in the wrong place or some shiit. I always mess up some mundane detail."

Well, he would have to assume it was possibly being recorded on the other end. How would he know it wasn't? Therefore there's always the possibility it could go public.

But beside that you would have to be insane to think the SOS for Georgia or whatever state is going to fabricate fraudulent votes just because you the President asked him to. There's no way it could even be done without being found out. And that's a criminal offence likely to result in imprisonment for the SOS. Trump may be a lot of things but insane isn't one of them.

Lol...but they didn't go public. So why assume that they would? Only one went public.

I think you'd have to be very dumb. Trump is very dumb.

Nice way of trying to spin it "omg we just had 3 major plane crashes this isn't the time to lay people off".

The people that got laid off had zero to do with any crashes, nor are they able to prevent any future incidents.

I'm sure having everyone in the tower wondering if they're still gonna have a job tomorrow really helps dial in the focus and reduce stress 😀

They're not laying off air traffic controllers lol theres a shortage of them, why would they do that?

They're laying off the leaches, all the people who "worked remote" from home meaning they didn't do **** and a lot of them held other full time jobs.

Elon's idiot children fired people working on the bird flu outbreak and USDA is now trying to rehire them.

He struggles with math non rurals learn at 7 or 8. I understand that might be normal in your circles, but it's pretty dumb in most.

Just asked my 5 year old and he got this in a few seconds

Might want to get a paternity test.

Watch any news channel reporting about US/Russia negotiations, Elon.

Almost as crazy is having a person in charge of education whose experience is running a professional wrestling company.

Although I guess it makes a bit of sense if your goal is to decrease education ("I love the uneducated").

I don't see a good future for health or the environment either. At least other countries can still have education and health.

i fully agree, but you may want to take a gander at the prior careers for just about anyone in charge of anything finance related in government

if you did, you'd see this has been the norm for decades

I'm fine with it as long as he resigns from current post and has no control of previous company or shares in it, so there is no conflict of interest.

Or if it does conform to usual approach in US, then that's fine too. In fact, one of the few appointments that are actually by merit lol

by Luciom k

the point is that if you never fail in general it means you didn't try enough things, and if you never fire people who shouldn't be fired, you aren't firing enough people (given that firing a lot of them is still a very valid goal).

This logic works very well for poker; i. e. If your bluffs never get caught, you're not bluffing enough.

It doesn't work so well for things that can result in death for many people; i. e. If you never have a meltdown, you're employing too many people in the safety department of your nuclear plant.

by housenuts k

What about the total incompetence by government in the past for never firing anyone?

/whataboutism

Move fast and break things

The US federal government can, and does, fire people for no cause other than not working hard enough at their job.

trust me on this one, I know
