Trump Economy and Poker

Trump Economy and Poker

About six years ago I put up a post pointing out that the good Trump economy was probably very good for the poker games

Currently at Bellagio. Was reasonable action last night, but obviously WSOP can affect that. There were 3 80/160 lhe games going, which I do not believe is common. So I guess that’s good. Although to be fair they were playing just as many 100/200 games (and typically a 3/6 or 4/8 would pop off as well) at Bellagio during the Obama years. Hooray, Trump! But Obama’s economy

How did you do at 3/6?

Calm down, rapist

Why did you feel the need to admit you peed on a girl to random nerds on an Internet forum?

Also, why do you have to put people on ignore? Why don’t you just self ban yourself and save your mental health. If myself and others have such a huge effect on your life why do you post here? Remember when you used to brag that you had me on ignore? Why did you take me off?

I don’t recall if I even played it. That was nearly 20 years ago.

EDIT:It occurs to me that you, being the wildly uninformed dumbfukstik you are, do not realize that “3/6” and “4/8” are short for 300/600 and 400/800.

High stakes poker, the stakes that actually matter because one can make a living at them, was much healthier under Obama than Trump.
Sorry if that fact hurts your incel feelings, loser.

You shouldn’t post any more.

I’m incapable of being loved or giving love.

I believe you. You’re a Kohbergeresque, spectrum-dwelling incel ****ing weirdo.

Limit was healthier under Obama mainly because a lot of those limit players are dead now.

Milton Friedman did win the Nobel Prize in Economics. I think that means he was very smart.

Paul Krugman though

Anyway, I expect something similar to happen again. That is, I expect the economy to improve, more people to take part in it, and the poker games to get better. This should take, in my opinion, about 18 months.

Main Event participation down again this year.

When I was at WSOP this year they were playing 80/160 lhe at Bellagio. It was 100/200 there during the Obama years, (and there was often 200/400+ going as well, in addition to the HUGE 1k/2k+ games going in Booby's room as well ) and that was with 2009's dollar, not today's.

Today they're playing 80% of the stakes with dollars that aren't nearly as valuable.

No only is this k-shaped cluster**** bad for poker, it's bad for the health of the country.

Thinking Trump would do anything other than **** things up was foolsih.

You were wrong, Mason. Dead ****ing wrong.

I've also played (and beat) high-stakes LHE, up to 500/1k online and 300/600 live (I miss the Commerce Casino and its never-shallowing pool of angry regfish). NL up to 100/200 (20knl) online* and 5/10/20 live. I am also known for my angry temperament. Maybe that's not as much of a relevant factor in beating poker as you think?

I don't know TheBigEasy, but I feel safe assuming that both he and I are profoundly more intelligent than you are. We've also never raped anybody. You, on the other hand, are a piece of human ****, a rapist, AND a moron. You certainly take after your boy Donnie.

I've played almost zero live poker in 10 years, partly because I don't enjoy interacting in person with the mongidigs of the world. Small-souled, sociopathic cretins. Also, live poker is sloooooooow as hell; pretty boring to sit there folding for an hour straight.

*I'll admit I only played this game once, on PokerStars sometime around 2010, to bumhunt that annoying prick Daniel Negreanu 😃

I mean, if things get bad enough economically, it works both ways. Fewer people have disposable income, BUT those that do often feel desperate and may view poker as a lottery ticket of sorts, and they feel they have nothing to lose...

I would guess these competing factors are largely a wash.

The real thing that would create a poker boom (not a 2003-style boom, that ain't never happening again) is another pandemic. By that I obviously mean online poker; the vastly superior version of the game. Online poker was INCREDIBLY soft from 2020 to 2022.

Are you actually claiming to beat these games over a meaningful sample? Anyone can sit down or run hot for a bit.

by mongidig

There is no way you have ever played that high with your temperament.

My temperament is what allowed me to play in those games, and it allowed other people to trust me to play with their money in those games.

Thinking that my telling you to go **** your self online means anything about how I carry myself in a 300/600 game only further illuminates how truly ****ing stupid you actually are.

1. In 2010 or whenever it was, Daniel Negreanu was a fish, or what I call a semi-fish, at nl cash. This may shock those of you who regularly watch his profoundly narcissistic, thirstily self-promoting streams. There were numerous instances in which a reg would be sitting alone for hours, and within 5 seconds after DN or any other fish sat, all 4 remaining seats got snap-filled and a waiting list springs up a few seconds later. He wasn't a terrible player or anything, and I imagine some part of the reason he got bumhunted just as hard as the nut-worst whale got bumhunted was because he's famous, but in any case, he was multiple clicks worse than I and infinite clicks worse than the highstakes nl specialists (I played that game after tilt-losing like 30k a few hours prior in LHE).

2. Yes. I was one of the biggest winners in these games in those days. Believe me or don't, it's cool. These days, I destroy mid-high-stakes online MTTs. I imagine the knowledge that a Commie is crushing the capitalist hellscape game of poker upsets you considerably, so feel free to ignore.
