About six years ago I put up a post pointing out that the good Trump economy was probably very good for the poker games
Now that mason is shitposting again dunking on ppl cuz stonks go weeeeeeeee it’s probably important to revisit his central thesis in his OP
We are now, in my opinion, about 15 months into trump’s presidency. Prices are higher on literally everything across the board, economic anxiety is actual, Vegas is getting lower traffic and they are closing poker rooms

Vegas is no longer the fun and affordable place it used to be. They changed their business model to cater to the wealthy and now they are paying the price. Vegas is not a good example for poker. Poker is doing quite well where I live and many other places.

What exactly is the relevance of the SP 500 to the subject of this thread? Numerous all time highs in stocks were set while Obama or Biden was president, but presumably these were not relevant to any supposed improvement to the "poker economy" whatever that phrase even means.

Well it sounds like David might have been a real life predator from everything that has been revealed in the run-up to his death (or re-revealed). If so, Mason may have played a role in covering up/laundering his image for as long as it was covered up/laundered.
But I was pointing out that people might interpret him calling what David did “stupid” as downplaying things. I wasn’t trying to attack him but rather explain to him where the reactions might be coming from.
I know but it doesn't actually address my question. The thread is about how the economy is going to boom and poker will do great. The stock market crashing is sufficient but not necessary to invalidate the thread premise. I'm asking specifically why poker is doing great right now, and how we can even know that, given the stock market hit dozens of highs during the Obama and Biden administration and we have a ton of other problems we didn't have then like all time low consumer confidence and Vegas tourism crashing.
