No he didn't. That was not a charge. It was a baseless allegation that he was not convicted of. But the judge seemed to still factor that in to the sentencing decision.
There were no victims of this supposed hit.

To be fair, the hitman part was a pretty questionable. It was law enforcement entrapping him, although he definitely had the intent to hire one. But he was basically a drug kingpin which is bad enough for me. Doing it through a website instead of face to face doesn't make it ok.

That’s how federal sentencing works man. You dont have to specifically plead to something to have it contribute to the sentence. Like you could admit that you sold a bunch of coke, and then at the sentencing the government comes and shows you also had someone killed in relation to this drug empire - which happens all the time too.
99 percent of terrorism convictions have “no victims” and are the result of something you could argue was “entrapment”. Almost all crimes are subject to the rule that attempting it is the same thing as actually succeeding.
You might think this is all very unfair, and maybe it is, but it’s not a one off thing they did to just railroad this one guy.

Yeah, it hit the wires. I seriously doubt there's any smoking gun but the playbigs of the world will certainly find some sort of conspiracy buried in the fine print with their secret decoder rings.
