I might rather have an HOA than a wife.

President Donald Trump ’s pick to lead a federal watchdog agency withdrew from consideration Tuesday evening, after his offensive text messages were made public and GOP senators revolted.

Paul Ingrassia, who was nominated to lead the Office of Special Counsel, had been scheduled to have his confirmation hearing this week.

On Monday, however, Politico reported on a text chat that showed him saying the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday should be “tossed into the seventh circle of hell.” Ingrassia also described himself in the chat as having “a Nazi streak” at times.

another coincidence!

Cancel culture run amok

Can't even be a Nazi anymore because of woke.

Reading the wiki entry of that damore guy he really got cancelled even more than I thought in real time.

Shared a milquetoast "memo" of feedback that was possibly requested through the proper channels and then it got leaked by someone salty and he got axed.

BREAKING NEWS!

Trump is having a Gold Throne installed on the north side of the Whitehouse ballroom!

A perfect place to bend the knee!

Okay, I made that all up.

President Trump is demanding that the Justice Department pay him about $230 million in compensation for the federal investigations into him, according to people familiar with the matter, who added that any settlement might ultimately be approved by senior department officials who defended him or those in his orbit.

Good value

Idk why he didn't ask for $230 billion what's the difference

Filthy, is there anyone who either

1) Is/Was an elected official, or
2) Had a legitimate chance to become an elected official

at any level of government that you would classify as "good"?

I campaigned for ralph Nader a couple of times. idk if you'd say he had a legit chance to be elected. he might have had like 3% in 2000?

but basically no. it makes sense. the USA is literally founded on genocide and slavery. the founders are universally worshipped. capitalism is considered an absolute necessity, as are cops and prisons and exploitation. it follows that members of the govt are gonna be bad. anyone actively supporting this doomed system of global contanimation, war, wealth inequality, etc... they're gonna be people with horrific politics.

there was that one guy, idk much about him... Hubert humphrey. he might have been good.

also *maybe* rfk could have been good. rfk did horrible things before his brother was assassinated. seems like he changed a lot though. idk if he changed enough to want actual equality and justice

I also believe that people like Ralph Nader would have a very good chance to be elected if elections were fair and open, and based just on people listening to the candidates. but we have a system where it's mostly just whoever spends the most money to spread the most propaganda wins... and of course how Dems and repubs collude to keep out anyone who is not completely obedient to one party or the other.

oh also Matt Gonzalez. he barely lost a runoff to be mayor of SF in the early 2000s. he was legit. I think he was green party iirc

he might have had some office in SF politics before that.

and also maybe the DA of SF who just stopped prosecuting people. I don't remember his name. and I had moved out of SF by then. so I don't know a lot about him. this was like 8 years ago or so

and there might be people like Bernie Sanders who fool themselves into thinking they are doing good work, simply by being the lesser of two evils. like they might genuinely believe they are making the country/world a better place by the work they're doing.
