Dog Day Afternoon was a bad example. A better example is Creed - 3. That cannot be used to get boxer/fist/olympus.

I can’t clue Brothers Karamazov for novel, but I can clue Misery.

Everyone good with this? States more explicitly:

The words being clued must directly relate to the content within the clue (the β€œCreed Rule,” just because a character is named Apollo, it does not mean β€œCreed” is a legal clue for Olympus).

Clueing a movie to get film isn’t legal unless it’s relevant to the plot (e.g., Boogie Nights)

Clueing a book to get novel isn’t legal unless it’s relevant to the plot (e.g., Misery)

Clueing a song to get music isn’t legal unless it’s relevant to the lyrics or artist (e.g., Hook)

A movie or book having a plot is not enough to clue plot. The movie or book must have to do with a plot of some sort.

We’re not going to be able to lay everything out, but this seems like a decent starting point.

Contagion - 3

I saw it once a billion years ago and remember none of it. I’m assuming it has to do with a virus. And it’s not zombies, because that’s 28 Days Later. Army would be Outbreak, pretty sure.

So yeah, I have no idea beyond virus.

I don't know this movie at all.

Virus for sure.

If you're sure it's not Army we won't do Army.

If you're sure it's not Zombie we won't do Zombie.

It's probably some animal. Mouse?

And probably some place. Alaska? Iceland? Castle?

Could just say Virus/pass rather than take risks.

Yeah sorry, I’m useless here other than virus (and having two better clues for virus + other words). I don’t remember it being something animal related. I remember it having an espionagey type feel, maybe there’s smuggling of the virus or a cure or something. And who knows, it could’ve been a digital virus, so I’ll throw net into the mix as well.

Finding Dory - 3

Turtle

Walrus
Seal

I have seen the movie but don't remember specifics about it.

Turtle and shark for sure.
I've only seen finding dory once, though, so I'm not sure why it instead of Nemo

Maybe Dory to clue us away from Tank?

That's a good point.

So we go Turtle, Shark and one of Seal/Walrus with the other as a backup.

I would hope that the wrong word is neutral and nothing worse so we shouldn't agonise over it too much when neither of us are super familiar with the movie.

Works for me

Turtle
Shark
Seal
Pass

Walrus

Seal seems like a more likely animal for one of those movies

Life of Pi - 4[/b]

Hmm

Tiger?

Definitely tiger. No idea what else.

It’s about a shipwreck. And he’s telling the story with animals in place of people.

It's interesting that Dory and Pi are back to back when one is in the water and the other is a shipwreck.

Okay, I can’t think of anything other than tiger.
