SIDES - Inaugural Game Thread
In this thread, we will play a new word game called Sides. It's somewhat similar to codenames, but cooperative and different.

In this game, a target word will be randed as will a row of 7 cards that have letters on them (most 1 letter, some 2/3/4 letters).
2 people will be the guessers and everyone else will be able to give a clue.
The clue given must start with the letter on either the first or last card (the 'sides' of the row).
We discuss as a team who will give the clue with open discussion in the thread such as "I have a 7 letter word starting with a C"
Once there is some agreement on who gives the clue, that person will bold the clue they want to give in the thread.
The two guessers will then discuss in the thread and bold their guess. If it's correct, we move on to the next guessers and the next word. If wrong, then the clue givers post some info like "you are warm" or "you are about 30% there" etc to give directional info on how on track/off track their guess is.
Then they discuss and give another clue. But the person who bolded a clue cannot give another clue for the same word until everyone on the cluing side has clued a word (if we take that long to get the word), so one person can't hog the cluing.
Clues have to be one word, or an acronym, etc like in codenames; they can be hyphenated words
We can also give some info on how the clues relate to each other, or even say a clue is a 0 clue, so the opposite of what cluing for (e.g., clue 'colorful' as an opposite clue because the word is zebra)

It's fine...probably about the same tier as the other d4. But the good d4 is better than both and they should be able to get it with all the confirmers imo.
quail isn’t as close to dove as one might think
I kinda wanna troll with K9 but good d4 seems like where it's at unless bolt has something else

Thinking that all the bird terms are for a bird word
I kinda like beak even tho we mostly call them duck bills
But why not nose if it’s beak? Or woodpecker which is famous for its beak instead of some w12?
Q5 would likely be quack which got me on beak but without nose not sure I can guess it
I think the k4 that he wants to follow it up with is key to figure out
Can’t just be kiwi unless the word is playtpus but then what are all the other words? Shouldn’t be any bird words for platypus (a mammal) unless it’s Australian like kiwi or duck-billed like ducks

Goose seems like a decent guess, given that duck would clearly be better than dove/quack/quail/etc because of duck-duck-goose.
I’m not sure what k4 would be in that context though.
Not mentioning w9 for waterfowl is potentially problematic tho
I really want to know what w12 is.
Could it be hunt or hunting? Would’ve preferred Duck to duck if it’s hunt, but if q5 is quail that could work. And k4 could be kill.
And other d4 deer
I’m kind of starting to feel hunt/hunting/hunter.
I think we can cross hunting off the list because no w4 (Will).
Duck not being capitalized hurts hunt a little bit. But also not going with Deer (Hunter) also hurts that word.
But for now I think I’m in one of hunt/hunter and would probably go with hunter because it covers both words.

One may be strong enough on its own but it could go several ways
q5 works as a confirmer too
if it's the L7 I'm thinking of I don't really like it much - that will really go into another domain imo. If you knew our target word I think it easy to get L7(it I'm thinking of the same thing) but the other way around doesn't work so well
Yeah, this is harder than it seems like it should be. There's a w12 that is a lock assumimg they know it.

Why does q5 have to be quack? In this context, if the other (non-duck) d4 is deer, then quail works here to answer D1iab’s question. And also supports hunt/hunter.
