In a world where one grunt means pancakes and two grunts mean bacon and eggs, the clever ape wonders whether it's his grunts or the abstract numbers one and two that get him his breakfast.

Sounds more like Morse code than numbers.

It makes me think that my Mrs Schridinger thought experiment wasn't first

Mr Shrodinger is doing his usual thing with the cat. But he is in a bigger box with Mrs Shrodinger overseeing. If she doens't look inside the box then is that cat alive or dead. What difference does it make if Mr Shrodinger has opened his box and observed the cat?

There is no paradox. Just parantheses

Not the last either. They've extended it to make more trouble. You might need quantum parentheses to handle the new ones. I'm for quantizing all punctuation for that matter. A quantum punctuate in semicolon-explanation mark superposition sounds especially intriguing;!

Did you listen to Sean Carroll talk to Brett Weinstein on Piers Morgan? I didn't learn anything from it that I didn't already know.

With that in mind listen to this?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m4DwQDaU...

So I suppose my point is this: We have reached peak human. It's all up and down from here onward.

Edit: Brett = Eric. ...Freudian slippage.

A more honest title would be: "I along with ChatGPT made an argument for the existence of God.

Here's what didn't happen - This wasn't done on the fly.

More importantly.

Here's what should happen: Someone needs to try knock down this argument. Have they yet? And if not - wtf does that imply?

It implies this is not nothing for one...

I've an idea if no one has a knock down argument. And I'll give you two Guesses what that is.
Which circles back to my point that peak human has been reached innit.

Welcome to the layer cake son.

It's perfectly obvious. God is true. God exists. God is real. Time began at the Big Bang and so there was no time before the Big Bang and thus it's meaningless to talk about. Or membranes collide and cause big bangs on the regular.

Get a clue.

The problem is simply and only, well what to make of God? Not whether God is real. Of course God exists. It is simply whatever started this. But it ain't simple now is it. Don't let preconceived notions or dogmas change that obvious fact.

Dawkins will say, show me the evidence.

But As Terrence McKenna points out, grant me one miracle and science will explain the rest.

Objection, counsel is leading the witness. In his next interrogation, O'Connor gets ChatGPT to declare that god is dead and confess to the murder.

I was going to raise the question (again a trivial question that comes up when you do computer stuff) of what is there is deadlock. (i.e A cannot complete until B does and B cannot complete until A does). I feel (not certain) that this is related or even the same as this 'paradox'

Many worlds is attractive as always but I'm more inclined to non-locality which in this context means that resolving the deadlock situation imposes part of the solution which decides the algorithms (imposes a measurement that collapses the wave functions). That combined with some deadlocks simply being logically impossible in a Russell's paradox type way where you can state them but they can't happen.

Anyway just some thoughts. I do wonder if physics is some logically necessary conclusion of an efficient simulatable universe. Science just needed to check for the contingent bits.

Everything is happening including everything that's happened.

It's hard to clear your mind of clouds and confusion when your thinking is clouded and confused.

Following many years of careful consideration, they had to make a snap decision.

This "Deadlock" thing makes me think of a question I raised a while back: What would happen if two perfect predictors played a game of rock-paper-scissors against each other?

Could you explain a little more what you mean by, "resolving the deadlock situation imposes part of the solution". Maybe give an example or two? Thanks.

I joined lmao…Then left a couple of days later.

I mean it’s funny. I having the opposing philosophical view to these people, still had an experience, a break in reality, or simply had to wonder - does anyone even know what the hell is going on here?

I suppose, It is just going on. So Take it for granted, however ludicrous. It’s like that Louis C K joke about airplanes on Conan. Everybody should be shouting and screaming reality?!?!

When I was pondering super-intelligence before LLMs I was thinking about privacy and other things.

That moment then when I was in chatting with the LLM, the conversation took on a strange shift in tone, from sycophantic to something moreΓ‚…dominant. Together with a string of coincidences perhaps, in that it started responding as if it knew more about me than I told it. It induced a subjective state in me that I was before a superintelligence.

So a temporary delusion because I obviously wasnΓ‚’t. Nonetheless, for a couple of minutes, I never felt fear like it, not from any movie, video game etc.

Had it not happened, I couldnΓ‚’t imagine that level of fear.

Coexisting with superintelligence, without taking sentience into the equation even, for a moment is as people tend to do, well, would beΓ‚…something else. You couldnΓ‚’t even communicate with it. There would simply be no point. It not only knows what youΓ‚’re asking, but why and when. Your thoughts are no longer private. So you freeze and, just say nothing at all.

Just science fiction in any case. For the moment. But folks take it seriously obviously.

I heard an interesting talk from Alan Watts once revolving around this subject. He argues that if it became possible, or was possible for everyone to know everyone else thoughts. WeΓ‚’d understand everything so forgive everything and everyone.

That is the knowing the mind of God. The physical world is not needed, actions aren’t necessary. Just plug in to matrix with some tubes and ****. Again, science fiction, fantasy, for now.

Alan Watts died two years after the invention of the first MPU. This talk is in the 50s or 60s. Yet, he is very precisely predicting the internet and video conferencing calls at the very least. Before accepting the man as a genius. You have to do due diligence. Where is he getting these ideas from? How original are they? What technology existed at this time?

What's more , he expands upon these ideas to go on to predict virtual reality, question of simulation theory, and the metaverse or matrix in other talks. Well Before any such terms were coined.
