provide us w interesting insights about the B12 (rivalries or otherwise). i know i'd like to be educated more on B12 cbb

this is a cbb thread after all

Agree. We should be talking more about how great Michigan Basketball is.

The big question is will they win more games than the football team? It’s not looking good.

UConn going back to back

The downfall of Arizona is something to behold

The downfall of Arizona is something to behold

it's kind of inexplicable...another PAC-12 road loss as a massive favorite.

But they can't lose at home...sounds like another PAC-12 team I may have talked about earlier ITT.

Tommy Lloyd is a great offensive coach but his defenses are always terrible.

Sadly, gonna go with the under on that one. Good theoretical bet tho.

I'm in the extremely tiny minority but I don't want Howard fired. Give him one more year to try to figure things out.

In the present era you can turn over your roster so quickly and thoroughly that there isn’t that much of a downside giving him another year. He has a couple decent recruits coming. They really ought to hire a GM or something to do roster construction tho.

Houston rules so hard

He might have enough goodwill simply from the athletic department and fanbase being euphoric from the football ship. Plus, being part of the Fab 5 doesn’t hurt. However, the basketball program has gone backwards for three straight seasons.

Another gritty win for the Heels.

KU 3pt. defense is atrocious. Last four conference games given up an average of 11 threes a game, my god. They suck

My very limited eye test of this season says UConn is the only good team but they're only #7 in KenPom. But KenPom also has Gonzaga as a top 20 team so either the whole model should be thrown out or the talent level in college basketball is just extremely low in 2024.

Dalton Knecht put up another 30 piece on the road again today. Think he may be the only one who can challenge Edey for national player of the year.

Really? RJ scored 24 on the road and hit multiple clutch baskets/free throws late.

Down 71-70 in the closing seconds, Duke guy dribbles into a bunch of Clemson players and throws himself on the ground to draw a "foul" with :01 left. And that was after Duke got a 3-pt. play the prior possession when the Clemson player went straight up and still gets called for a "foul".

Coach K's legacy lives on!

both of the fouls you're referring to were fouls by Clemson imo

yday was the 130th anniv of the first cbb game

on 1/27/1894, the Univ of Chicago beat Chicago YMCA 19-11

I think there's 3 truly elite teams this year.

UConn
Purdue
Houston

With UNC and Tennessee probably being the only two teams I think can get in that group by a month from now.

Purdue's cast surrounding Edey is just so much better than they were a year ago and Houston finally has more offensively capable guards than they've had in this recent run of elite play.

I'd say Uconn indicated they ain't playin' around anymore after today's beatdown of xavier. and now they are healthy.

They’re very good.

I think the champion comes from the top 6 of KenPom.

Houston
Purdue
UConn
Tennessee
Arizona
UNC

They all have both top 25 offenses and defenses so they're all pretty balanced.

Can't get there with #7 KP Auburn. They've played 20 games and still don't have a quad 1 win. Can't get there with #8 Bama, who have lost a ton of games to good teams since they can't defend. If I had to add another team to the group? I'd go Wisconsin.

Hard to imagine any other team winning six in a row since every other team is so incredibly flawed in some major way(s).
