2024 F1 Season.

Love the comments everywhere from people just bashing Max and pretending he did it intentionally while onboards clearly show he was already focused on making the corner when it happened. It was his fault but it was not intentional at all. Also it is not like Lando's earlier dive bombs were clean racing. None of it would have happened if the Stewards hadn't taken 8 laps to decide Lando had a track limits violation and a 5 seconds penalty.

I am not bashing Max... he is a hard racer.
but when you drive in a manner that is overly aggressive, either defensively or offensively, and the outcome is contact or forcing someone off their line, you should be Penalized... least we have an ever increasing number of instances.

Max didn't invent this, Alonso didn't perfect this and Senna wasn't the only Driver guilty of reckless driving... but these antic's should a MORE severe outcome than a timed penalty.

Just because a driver is faster than you are does NOT give one the right to force that driver into a dangerous and costly scenario.

its not awesome to brake check, it's not skillful to change your line in a effort to block, and it's not 'good for the show' to cause incidents of carnage.

Max got beat today... he was NOT the fastest and did not have the best car... the out come should have been 2nd place and 18 points. THAT is how a Champion handles that scenario.

Lando would have needed a 5 second gap though and no way he gets that with Max starting within DRS after Lando overtakes and 7 laps left. Only reason we got a fight to begin with was the 6 second RBR pitstop. Stewards not wanting to interrupt the show after Lando did another track limit violation is the biggest reason it wasn't over after Lando's first failed dive bomb as that 5 second penalty ends any reason for Max to close the door later. But I was really entertained for the first time in a long time.

As for dangerous racing. Lando pushing Max on the grass at the start of the previous race was dangerous as well and everyone including Max just moved on and laughed as it worked out badly for only Lando and nobody crashed but you should not be result oriented.

Max isn't worse than many other WC drivers from the past (Schumacher, Senna). If hard racing on and over the line of the permissible is something that upsets you, maybe you need to look for another hobby

Previous drivers were criticised and rightly so, and Max will be justifiably criticised too. Hopefully Lando can continue to challenge for the rest of the year and close the gap and we see how Max is going to deal with that. A 10 second penalty is ridiculously inadequate and if we see further instances this year, I wouldn't be surprised if rule changes are in place for next year. Sounds like some of you are suggesting that multiple Sky TV people are biased against Max because Lando is British. You should try putting on an objective hat and get off Max's ****.

Penalties in F1 are dumb, they need to find a way to just think you can give 5/10 sec with no nuance and it's ok

Agreed though they dropped the ball by not assessing if it was a penalty for Norris in due time (did that investigation ever come through??)

Criticism is obviously absolutely fine. Feel Wrath post wasn't criticism, it was a Max hater venting his frustration

I totally agree that a 10s penalty isn't sufficient in some cases. I would welcome a post race impact assessment, followed by a grid penalty for the next race or a direct point deduction, for example.

Sky are known Max haters. Since 2021 that is just a fact of life. You don't have to be a Max fanboy to be annoyed by that. If you need proof of their bias, I can dig up some YouTube clips from Damon Hill, Simon Lazenby, Sam Collins, for example.

But their bias is not only in F1. Watch how they treat English football players/managers Vs foreign ones. It is disgusting journalism

Disagree the moving over in the braking area was intentional to upset Lando's corner speed to get to the next DRS point. Desperation driving from Max and something he is not use to having to defend his position like that.

Totally overblown imo. Professional racing at elite level for high stakes. I like seeing em go hard.

If I were a Lando supporter, I’d complain how Max was being a prick moving to the left. So unfair. Always a selfish bully dirty driver.

If I was on Team RB, I’d expect nothing less. Would be pissed if Max just let the outside open to get passed.
