The NHL Thread
For the 5 of us who post NHL stuff, here you go. Officially the season starts Tuesday October 11, although there were tw
should be a goal (lol dowd)
What a game!
I truly cannot believe what I just saw. Win or lose, what a crazy comeback. But it sure would be way sweeter with a win!
Yeah maybe, but game should have been over either way.
Canes have had too much OT luck, thatβs gotta run out tonight.
(doesnβt it?)
I hope not!
this series is already madness
[OptaSTATS] This is the first time in NHL history the Stanley Cup Final was tied 1-1 with both teams having a multi-goal comeback win.
Carolina became the first team since the 1944 Canadiens to win a Stanley Cup Final game after trailing by multiple goals in the final 10 minutes of regulation
Mitch Marner is the first player to score 3 goals in a period of a Stanley Cup Final game since Peter Forsberg (Avalanche) Game 2, 1996
Mitch Marner beat Maurice Richard's record for fastest hat trick in a Stanley Cup final by 11 seconds, and became the first player since Frank Foyston in 1919 to have 4 points in a single period during the Stanley Cup Finals.
Hurricanes set record for the fastest 3 goals by one team in a Stanley Cup Final game (:39). Previous Mark: Canadiens (3 in :56) in Game 2, 1954
[Sportsnet Stats] Only one team in history has won a playoff game when trailing by 4+ goals in the 3rd period: Kings over Oilers, “The Miracle on Manchester” Game 3, 1982 Smythe Division Semifinals
(Trailed 5-0 in 3rd, won 6-5 in OT)
lol of course after all that it’s double OT. This is the series deciding game. Please, Canes. Please.
Fortunate for the loser that thereβs an extra day between game 4
Think I just heard 2 own goals in this game?
You heard correctly
vgk should give em game 4, ya know, just to be nice
They gave them Game 2 and tried to give them Game 3β¦how much nicer could they be?
But Vegas fans are max lol. Went to a game there 3-4 years ago and my buddy and I had a few and were getting quite vocal to match the energy of the other tards in our vicinity.
I noticed when Marner was given a penalty shot, the reaction was tepid. Usually when your star just gets awarded a penalty shot the crowd will erupt. I'm convinced over half of them didn't understand what the ref pointing to center ice meant.
Anyway, the overall series xG is 50.08-49.92 Carolina so the series has been insanely tight!
Fraudrik has already let in 5.5 extra goals above expected so I guess you just roll with Bussi the rest of the series? Carturd hasn't been very good either, but just good enough.
Marner playoffs with Leafs: 70 GP, 13 G
Marner with Knights: 19 GP, 10 G
In the playoffs challenges on goals should not require the team that losses a penalty. The league should review all iffy goals or no goals
I’m sad to lose that one, but a hell of an effort by our guys to get back in it. Never expected that heading into the 3rd.
Just have to regroup mentally and remember it’s only one game and the series is only 2-1. Let’s win game 4 to make this a best of 3 heading back home.
Oh, and watch the 2nd period film and never do that again.
