2025 Formula 1 Season
2025 Formula 1 discussion thread...
Piastri dominating Norris. I think he's a more complete driver than Norris.
If McLaren win WDC this season then I see it happening with Oscar.

Driving skills wise, still probably think Oscar a tiny bit behind Lando but I still rather have my money on Oscar when it counts.
Lando has on many occasions crack under enormous pressure.
Oscarβs more solid when playing high stakes.
Lando's mindset is a huge weak point
Max and Oscar don't give a ****
Go Oscar! First hat trick by an Australian since Alan Jones in 1980. Oscar’s second win from pole, one more than Daniel achieved.
Mercedes really Hung kimi out to dry this race... the first stint was beautiful
The direction managed to completely miss the last lap overtake of Max on Pierre
Good to see that Jack Doohan did well after his injury in Japan. He looked alright this weekend.
Max has the second fastest car on the circuit β¦which means there is a βgreat concern he will choose to leaveβ.
Poor Max

I think it's more the fear that the team is on a downward trajectory since Newey packed away his pencil last season.
Everyone is going to want that seat at Aston Martin next season and potentially have a chance of driving a dominant car.
I am sorry... I think that the 'Newey effect' is OVERRATED.
no one is designing future success on past performance... his past designs are legendary, but in these more modern times I think the 'Newey Effect' has basically been neutralized by modern fluid dynamics and computing.
Concerning the modern 'formula'... it is clearly broken and it is producing horrendous racing.
Parity is BORING and before we forget, Formula 1 is a 'TEAM SPORT' and as such engineers should be allowed and encouraged to experiment to produce more excitement.
Does that mean a team can dominate... yes.
World Driving Championship is secondary in my humble opinion... and if you want the best driver to win, create a series where all drivers driver the same car with the same tires... race of champions.
I do think Newey is perhaps a bit overrated. There's no guarantee he will automatically hit the winning formula for a dominant car. However, he does have pedigree behind him and has made winning cars despite various regulation changes over the years. If you had the choice, you'd have him on your team.
Yuki.... NOOOOOO
it's not getting any better for lulu... from his videos, it seems he already resigned to reality that he has not been fast enough for a few years now.
Oops Lando
This will not help his self confidence issue
An amazing qualifying session...
Lulu looks like he's done.
Not a great race. I would have preferred to see Max stay in the lead. Piastri's better start decided the race immediately. It would have been an interesting battle for the win otherwise

If Red Bull weren't so dumb and arrogant they would have given up the place immediately. Max would have been on Oscar's gearbox for the Safety Car period and would have had DRS and able to fight for the win.
They're lucky that Mercedes didn't have the pace as Max could have ended up in 3rd.
Not sure if Max giving up the place would have mattered. It's becoming more obvious each race that the best car /driver combo is Piastri.
Sainz had more points through five races last year than Lulu has this year and he missed one race. Nice upgrade, Ferrari.
Max was NEVER going to make that corner... he's used this technique many times before. he pitches it in there way to fast and drifts off track and claims that no room was given. was there no room... no. was he ever going to make that corner... no.
it's a proper penalty... it probably should have been 10 seconds since he didn't give back that position directly and was therefore able to control the gaps from the front until the first pit cycle.
it's not cheating, but it's a bit like the 'soccer flop'.

RedBull has had the best strategy team for years now so when they decide that clean air until the first pitstop is worth more than giving up the place I tend not to doubt them. Max was never going to get past Piastri if he gave the place back anyway as the McLaren is even better in clean air.
