2025 MLB Season Thread
The Tokyo series is March 18-19th, will air on FOX, and is between The Cubs and The Dodgers.
The Regular Season starts Ma
The throw was truly ****ing insane, especially considering it had zero momentum to it
Curious if Acuna gets the Soto treatment next year. I assume he will, and he should, but for some reason it just seems like he has zero hype
Astros/ Mariners headed to the 11th after a bazaar 10th
It is interesting that the Jays are running so good, considering who really is not contributing.
Big Move guys....
Santander is -.9WAR and has been injured and will be lucky to find any at bats when he gets back
Andres Gimenez has been injured and while his defense is solid, I am not sure what the Jays were thinking ...because he was never going to a solid bat. Unless the plan was to shift him to SS next year and accept the 240 BA he is going to give the Jays
Existing regulars
Varsho has only played 24 games and the CF defense has not seemed to suffer
Vladdy and Bo have not produced to their normal levels yet, but the Jays are still rolling along.
Some big pluses
The bullpen has been solid and Eric Lauer has been really good so far
Springer is actually hitting like he did with Houston - sweet....
Ernie Clement has been awesome..
Kirk, who can hit any pitch to the op field it seems, is having a Vg year. He has 1.5WAR
His back-up, Heineman is 341/396/913 and 1.4WAR
Barger, Lukes and Straw have all exceeded expectations so far, esp Barger. More recently, Loperfido and Wagner have been chipping in.
The Jays can't continue to keep outplaying their expected W/L like they are, but it seems like they have 11 or 12 guys with good bats competing for 9 hitting spots each game. The 7, 8 and 9 spots have been giving pitchers fits.
And, they are getting hits and runs in large part without the long balls.
PS. Have no idea why Leo Gimenez is getting any ABs, and surprised Davis Schneider is still on the Jays roster.
Well, the blue jays have a better record than the Dodgers.
Brewers 10 wins straight.
The Miz is going to the world series.
Nobody Beats The Miz!
I'll just let you know that Springer will do some dumbass baserunning blunder in a big spot.
45 year old Rich Hill going to start for Royals Tuesday. I'm regretting my Al central bet.
I cashed out my Tigazz WS bet ($100, +3000) for $295 .
Feels kinda good.
TIGAZZZ collapse imminent
Ohtanis pitching looks like his potential ticket to a 4th MVP. The dodgers really need pitching.
As a pure DH this year I think someone else like Armstrong would or will take the award over him.
If the season ended today Raleigh and Ohtani are winning mvp
I concede that neither deserve it obviously, o just think Raleigh being the new shiny thing and also a catcher helps him whereas PCA being a pretty decisively worse hitter and name brand recognition and lack of attention to defense hurts him
Doubt that changes unless they get hurt
Never have I ever seen a play at first reach the outfield wall.
Hard to enjoy anything Twins with that stupid Marlin's logo.
Ohtani at this point has to battle against Voter fatigue. He's only 5th in the NL in WAR, with several players close behind also, including the catcher on his own team, and his team has underperformed. He's in the hunt, but I wouldn't consider him to be in the lead.
But if he starts being a legitimate 5 innings+ rotation guy and pitches at an all star level, he has the ability to rise above the pack. A 4th MVP in 5 years (with a 2nd place in the other year) would give him a strong case for best 5 year peak of all time, and having done so while missing 1.5 years of pitching to injury is just mindblowing. Man has lived up to all his hype and far beyond.
That's consistent. Joe Morgan would be proud

Blue Jays are the top al team. News just hit me!
How about them Jays? Big game tonight.
The Jays seem to have an endless supply of random guys I've never heard of before this year who have been quite good.
If someone gets injured, there's always another one.
Ernie Clement?
Myles Straw?
Addison Barger?
Tyler Heinenman?
Nathan Likes?
Yariel Rodriguez
Brandon Little?
Eric Lauer?
