I've read tons of different ranges on this, but nearly all fit into the range I said, except yours. Any ways.. I don't really care honestly. 😀
Nm, we're talking about different years.
Nm, we're talking about different years. You responded to a post that I said last year, so I assumed you were on topic.
Using last year's numbers (where they were still #1 in tax payroll + bill btw) to hand wave away this year is being dishonest. Their tax payroll + tax increased by almost $130MM this year.
Also, the post you were originally replying to was about this year's super team, not last years, so your 2024 numbers were what was not on topic, not my post.

This was all in my original post you responded to.
But you're right, we then moved to this year.
What's your point?
I'll help.... The Dodgers spend money correctly, in order to win.
Tons of other teams have spent more than the Dodgers, and haven't won. Who wants to be the 2023 Mets?

Everyone else was always talking about this year.
And no, no team has ever spent more than $585,804,173. The 2023 Mets were over $110MM less than that.
"Tons of other teams have spent more than the Dodgers."
Glad we're bringing the facts to the cookout.
there was a time when i used to tell this guy he shouldn't be making posts from his business account for this very reason
jays going home tonight, 3-0 sweep
Well, always the Leafs to cheer for and the craptors starting up.🙂

Oh my!
Considering going to game 5 if it's 2-2
Don't really care if series 3-1, or sweep obv.

Go Jays. Beginning of the comeback!
The Big Dumper's HR got a ton of people paid tonight.
I saw someone on twitter with a ticket on DK +1600 boosted to +1920
Vladdy + Dumper to HR
You're on a poker forum talking about luck? 😀
But if you're being serious, being one of the most injured teams this year isn't very lucky (or maybe it is since they are rested? 😀 ). As I said before, this Dodgers team as constructed is 110+ win team when even semi-healthy. They are now healthy and playing the baseball that was anticipated for them before the season.
I was talking about the postseason, not the regular season. And I do think with such a small number of games luck does play a large role in the playoffs.

Woudda coudda shoulda. The fact is they finished nowhere near 110 wins. When people were making those predictions, I thought they were silly because those types of seasons in MLB are so rare.
I thought around 100-105 wins was far more likely. And 105 win season is amazing so that’s no small feat.
But even 105 wins was possibly too high because the team had no bullpen, no left fielder and some horrendous outfield defense, which was the worst I’ve ever seen from a Dodger team. And teams are going to have injuries during 162 game season. And some players are going to underachieve, like Conforto.
The Dodgers aren't lucky though...
I have to disagree with this one. When a pitcher screws up an easy play and doesn’t make the obvious throw to 1st, and it loses the game, that’s an extremely lucky break in the Dodgers favor. It was the luckiest break of the series.
Also, having Sasaki figure things out just in time for the playoffs is luck. Being healthier than they have been since April is luck.
The team was definitely lucky in the Phillies series. Against the Reds, sure the Dodgers are far better than that mediocre team and just crushed them.
this is baseball. Winning PO games against good teams comes down to a lot of little things, and poise. There's just a lot of PO experience on the Dodgers roster, and they know how to execute in these environments because they've been there so many times. Phillies and Dodgers were probably the two best teams left in the PO's... only one could win.
Luck would have had them winning a few more WS titles, or at the very least, not being cheated out of a couple.
Fwiw the Phillies have a lot of playoff experience too.
And for an experienced team some of the Dodger players do some really dumb ****. And their defense sucks for a playoff team. Edman almost cost the team game 2 against the Phillies because he couldn’t make a simple throw to 1b and he plays 2b.
They are winning mostly because they have fantastic starting pitching and Sasaki discovered his velocity and control at the perfect time.
Ohtani is really choking right now. He doesn’t look poised to me at all.
If they are playing with extra poise it could easily be because they haven’t been behind in a series yet, and it’s easier to play with poise when you have dominant starting pitching.
Doyer over Jays is a lock, even though I'm rooting for Jay over crybaby doyers.
For a minute there, I forgot Txdome is anti Brewers. This gives me renewed hope and focus.
C'mon, Misiorowski, you are our only hope!

The Dodgers had the 3rd highest DRS in all of baseball this year.
I get it... good teams are going to draw hate. It's still fun to watch right? That's why we're in this sub?
I think it's been a pretty exciting post season so far, and it has nothing to do w/ Dodgers winning, but a lot of 5 game series, extra innings, big moments, crazy plays. That's why we watch... so let's enjoy it.
Leafs and Jays tonight! 😀
