Some cracking goals tonight
Wasn’t expecting to win tonight, fabulous result.
Bayern should've dismantled us tonight and Neuer ended up being the MVP lol. Might've fumbled the bag.
Cubarsi always seems to get himself in trouble
Plop should be three down already but for Dembele being ****
That VAR overturn was horrifically bad
Yeah absolutely clear as day for me that he fouls before he gets to the ball. It's as if they showed the ref a shot of the feet only, upper legs outside the frame..
Bizarre decision. Had the ref not given it and VAR didn't intervene, fair enough cause it is a bit soft but to overturn it. Just bizarre.
Lovely seeing Liverpool losing so often.
PSG V Bayern would have been an elite final, still a great semi if they both hold on (PSG should easily).
the ball was behind him. by the time he had stopped and controlled it everyone would have been back
Why would he even attempt to stop the ball?
Its going the right way he could just let it roll, could even take the shot on first time, no need to control it and never to stop it.
Moment of Cubarsi fouling him the ball was not behind him either.
And those other defenders would have to be bullet trains to make up the distance once the ball was through.
Maybe watch it again: https://youtube.com/shorts/U7ynCbM3CgA?s...
he clearly has to stop his run to get the ball there. you can see it pass by in between them
Are we watching the same vid? Where did he "clearly" stop his run?
He is as through as could be and even every barca fan I spoke said it was 100% red
if he isnt fouled he *then* has to stop his run to get the ball because the pass is going by behind his back. he cant just continue to run full speed towards the goal. it's why he tries to backheel it
can't you see the path of the ball?
Not sure that its plus EV to get a red there.
Just let it run, it was not an inch perfect ball, plenty to do for the striker. Even if its an early goal its still 11v11 in a two legged fixture.
It might have been instinctive though. As is I dont mind the red, bit surprised the ref played it safe with a yellow initially.

He's not, the ball is behind him. There is a video from the back where you can clearly see Simeone is trying to use his backheel to control the ball BUT it's still very much a red card.
I think they got it wrong in the Barca game too tbh. There would have been three defenders between Simeone and the goal before he had gotten the ball under control
But they just have to do it the hard way instead then
Meh, not sure if this is true but last man, contact and a fall. It's just a red card. Cubarsi should've been a lot smarter there and don't touch him.

At least we agree for the bigger part then 😉
I feel he is already through and the ball is going the right direction as well so I think this is a pretty clear red all day long.
Didnt mean to clutter the thread about it though.
This is something I feel is true about 90% of the cases where a defender gets red for fouling a broken through player.
The majority of the times when a defender decides to do nothing the player misses/goalie saves.
Bit cruel of Alvarez to put in the net like he did:p
PSG are gonna win it again. They looked great against Liverpool.
Real Madrid fan here but Bayern looks very very strong.. They are currently my favorite with PSG a close second.
was kinda hoping that this was finally atleti's year ..... welp
or maybe ??
Spoiler
still butnahhh, probably tho
