GOAT NBA Discussion: Biggest fraud poster: fallguy. Super AIDS Containment thread
Wemby playing without Harper and Fox for a game. That's like every player combined for the Bulls in the 6 years they won chips.
lol @ Wemby not being good at scoring.
This year he shot 83% from the free throw line, which matches MJ.
He shot 35% from 3. Better than MJ (and that's giving MJ the short 3 point line years).
And he shoots (considerably) better than MJ at 2s.
He averaged 41pp 100 possessions this year, higher than MJ's career average.
Imagine what he would do if he could actually score. lol
FG. How sad your life must be just to **** on players.
What Wemby is doing is insane. He's 22.
Can't you just say nice things about the guy?
I feel like watching Wemby is like how it would have been watching Wilt back in the day. Just had an unfair advantage of the rest of the players on the court.
fallguy can't admit that the Bulls insane injury luck is a huge factor in them winning the 6 titles.
But MJ would have dragged them to the chip even if everyone was injured. Because it was all him and no one else. But whatever you do, don't talk about the 80s where he didn't win.
Honestly, his teammates didn't matter though.
I'm seeing now that HARTENSTEIN locked up Wemby??
This is because Wemby lacks polish, since a polished jab step or headfake would allow Wemby to beat a snail defender with the first step every time, thus getting Hartenstein in quick foul trouble.
When someone is guarding you that shouldn't be able to guard you, the objective should be to get them in foul trouble, since that's what hapless defenders do - they FOUL..... A polished/mastered offensive game and fundamentals would give Wemby the capacity to punish defenders that have no business guarding him, and prevent opposing coaches from using gimmicks like Hartenstein (or Diaw for Lebron, etc, etc).
Since Wemby still lacks polish and scoring mastery, he will need his guards to help him, but oh wait... they're all hurt... Welp, I get that's it then - OKC in 6 this year, and Wemby will be the favorite next year.
See, that's why I don't have to watch the games - ONE FACT like Hartenstein held down Wemby is enough for me to deduce exactly what must have happened, AND the solution
carry on

I'm pretty sure Wilt would've dropped at LEAST sixty points on Hartenstein.
Ditto Hakeem, Shaq, Robinson, or even a 2nd tier big like Seikaly would eat Hartenstein alive... Imagine Sikma's headfake on Hartenstein... Then there's the Georgetown crew - Alonzo, Dikembe, Ewing... Hartenstein is obviously bbq chicken... And based on last night, these guys would lock Wemby up pretty easily.
If Wemby is not a good scorer despite already being a better scorer than Jordan, imagine what he is going to be with another few years getting better

So why only 20 ppg against Minnesota and carried by Castle??
It's not like it was a sweep - it went 6 games, so the Spurs could've used extra scoring from Wemby.
And if Hartenstein can lock up Wemby, imagine what would Alonzo do.
Ultimately, with the Spurs' guards injured, they will need Wemby to dominate scoring-wise, so we'll get to see what he has... And he has to score smartly at the right times while elevating/galvanizing teammates.. This usually takes experience
Wemby shot over 50% from the field in that series.
Jordan shot less than 39% in the 97 ECFs. Trash.

Wemby's efficiency is always boosted by having small burden and several equal-scoring partners to attract equal defensive attention, while Jordan faced MAX defensive attention because Pippen was MIA and not a threat.. Pippen averaged 16 on 40% in that series and averaged 10-30 ppg less than MJ in every series, so Jordan always faced max defensive attention (carried scoring load).. Jordan's unique and goat burden (defeating max defensive attention) while winning 6 chips is why he's goat.
Defense is also much better now.
Imagine thinking keeping someone to 21/17/6/4 was "locking him up".
Apparently, the 7'5" Wemby scored 3 buckets in the paint in Game 2 compared to 11 in Game 1.
So Hartenstein completely changed Wemby's caliber.
So we'll see if Wemby has the skill and polish to fully-realize his physical advantages
And any 21 pt game was considered Jordan getting locked up

So you like to sort by PPG. He scored more pts in G2 than G1. But he wasn't locked up in G1 but was in G2 apparently.
I will wager you $1k to the charity of the winner's choice that OKC win at least one more game.
I already retracted my Spurs in 5 prediction after the media's reaction to Game 1... Their overreaction is one that I've seen before.. I realized that Wemby has the ability to be a great scorer but he isn't there yet... Spurs are still good enough to win but they need a full deck of players

So the media is what made you change your mind lol, not what happened in the game or the skill sets of the respective teams, but how it was reported on

Yes, it's actually a viable way of predicting the future, aka pretend you're IN the future looking back in hindsight and in this case, seeing the obvious media overreaction to Game 1...
And then remembering other relevant instances like when Wade (the true leader of those Heat title teams) said after the Game 1 loss in the 12' Finals that the first game was "just to see" - he said it with such confidence and sure enough, the Heat won easily after that... For veteran champions (like Wade was at the time), the first game is often "just to see".
It's just a bad sign for the opponent when a veteran has the temerity to say after a Game 1 loss that the game was "just to see".. Wade probably felt so confident because he was playing babies - there was nothing to revere
when u make a series prediction, you have to stand by it.
if you flip flop because of lolreason then you're a coward whose "word" is forever meaningless.

I mean accepting you were wrong is fine, changing your prediction because something matieral happened (injuries etc) is fine, but changing it because the media said something htat led you to think the other way?
That's just "ugh I think I was wrong" but framed in a Trump "fake news caused this" way.
FG telling someone was "locked up" without watching a game is amazing.
