Happy Birthday John!
I was going to post a cheery birthday song, but this feels even better and suits the thread too, enjoy!
Not been around here much for a while, how is everyone doing?
I was planning to visit NYC next year, but there's no way I'm travelling to the USA with the ICE thugs doing their thing to tourists, so it's parked for 4 years as a plan. Sad, but I will get there one day.
DB!
That's probably a good idea. Things are insane in the States right now.
I hope anyone in this forum who voted for Trump now realizes how profoundly stupid they were to have done so.
I think they're still stupid

You're not the sort of tourist ICE would be after. I do believe they are concerned only with people who have a certain look about them.

Perhaps it's a darker look they seek. I, for one, plan to keep out of the sun in order to please our new insect overlords.
Not true.
I don't want to go anywhere where such fascist things happen anyway.

As we say here, ****ing Canadians.
You're probably right. It's the age of the moronic here.

Happy Birthday John!
Lol why did we all think it's John's bday?
Because John quoted a poem posted by Phat Mack titled, "Birthday", and I thought he was hinting around.
It was probably Mack.
Ohhhh you!
It is my birthday soon.
60
not as old as Dom, so some comfort there
Well, have the kind of day you want to when it comes, db.
Happy Birthday! I wouldn't worry too much about visiting the US unless you are in MS-13, Tren de Argua, or Hamas you'll likely be fine. OTOH I would be weary about posting anything even slightly negative about your own government. Harmless attempts at humor or even legitimate concerns seem like they could end up in doing time. I'd tread very carefully!
Battle of the Sox! Red vs. White. Sadly I am afraid John Cole will get bragging rights. White Sox are already unwatchable two weeks in (2 wins so far) :( Their pitching has been surprisingly good but they just can't hit. They can't score any runs.
Wait'll next year :(
I'll never forget my first live baseball game when I was a very little kid. It was spectacular! No idea who won? It was Red Sox vs. White Sox. I remember 2 things distinctly. One was how green everythng was on the field once you got inside. It was like when Dorothy opened the door into Oz. The other was when my Father leaned over to me when some Red Sox guy was batting and told me "this guy is the best hitter there ever was". I asked if he's so good why doesn't he play for us? Anyway it turns out that guy was Ted Williams.
my first was at ebbetts field in new york. brooklyn dogers. closed before you young squirts were even born.
mine was either the old Yankees stadium or Shea...I don't remember which was first, tho
First at the old Metrodome. Huge Brewers fan growing up. My high school graduation was when they first starting getting good (Yount, Molitor, et al). For a graduation present, I asked my Dad to get me tickets to a Brewers game. Since Minneapolis was closer than Milwaukee, we went there.
I believe it was the first season of the dome. What a terrible place for baseball.
