Seattle
Are there any regular LO8 games running in/around Seattle these days? I'll be in SEA for a few days at the end of Septe
Played with a circuit grinder was hoping was one of you guys but this place is just for old farts now
how did the douchebag get all them chips?
If you're at Ace’s Mountlake and not stocking up at WinCo you're missing out on tons of EV
I saw that Maverick filed for bankruptcy [emoji44] Expect big changes for poker in WA

From the Maverick Gaming website:
"We regret to announce the closure of four of our locations: Dragon Tiger Casino in Mountlake, Palace Casino in Lakewood, Silver Dollar Renton, and Roman Casino in Seattle."
As I typed this someone straddled to 10 it got bumped to $40 and got 4 callers
Stack is gone kk
Is Eric Persson still splashing around in high stakes games? How does this work with chapter 11 or whatever?
Went to play at fortune as it was on my way back from but lines were up the wazoo and no high hand which makes the promo drop incredibly painful rake so I called up Aceβs Mountlake and they have high hands until midnight and thatβs General area where Iβm going after anywayI hate the high hand promo but itβs insane to play that $4 promo drop if you basically need a royal to get
The state doesn't mandate 10%. 10% is the cap for the administration fee. Any cardroom could take less.
State regulations: See this pile of money over here? You can have some, and you don't really have to do anything to deserve it, but you can only take up to 10%.
Cardroom: 10%?! No, that's too much. We'll only take 5%, that's plenty.
State regulations: Are you sure? It's free money. You don't even have to pay taxes on it because it's not revenue.
Cardroom: We really like our customers and want to return as much of their money to them as possible. 5% will be just fine.

ahh it seems the card rooms have misinformed me - doubt it was nefarious - probably that's what the guy himself was told
btw i'm gone for a month so the games should be pretty awful until the end of august π
People who work in the poker trenches have often never read the WAC.. Nor do they understand why a rule is used... That's up to crusty old dudes who remember... π
I don't hold it against them but it does get annoying from time to time when they want to talk about their knowledge of poker. Or make a bad ruling cause it feels better. (my favorite).
Facilitators of abstraction, should be asking more questions rather than giving answers which have no basis... And they actually have no knowledge for... Obviously.
As far as the not taking 10% the only point I make is that most poker players are gambling... So would you rather play the slot that pays 95% or 90% back to the players... Poker players used to be sort of a cut above other gamblers, maybe I'm wrong-but I'm not so sure anymore...
Overall taking less could be a selling point for an upstart business... Maybe not in Seattle where things are ridiculously expensive, but certainly in smaller markets over at the middle and eastern parts of the state.
That's more than 2 cents... So I'm going to **** off to obscurity. π
Any casino in Seattle city or port area with slots and Video Poker ?
I'm planning a rare poker night Saturday. I've only played at Aces in the area once or twice a year or two ago, and am assuming I'll go back there. Any reason to check out another spot? (I'm coming from NE Seattle (Ravenna) so Aces is closest, LMK though if there's another place worth an extra 15 or 20 min drive?

nope, you got it right.
Happen to be in Sequim, and 7 cedars is holding a $300 donkument Sat 23.
No idea what the rake is, no guarantee listed which is lame, but I'm gonna try and run it up vs clallam county's finest!
If any 2p2ers happen to be there, happy to offer a bizzzowl in the parking lot
Prize pool was over 10k. Didn't get many hands; round 4 had big slick that didn't work out for 1/2 of my stack, then ran AQs into QQ.
95% over 65 years old
Had a good time at Aces lakewood, however their waitstaff levels are horrendous. One server covering the entire poker room on a Saturday night!
I'd think adding a server would pay for itself?
I won the 470 at Caribbean for 7.5K (3 way chop) and was expecting a W2-G. I itemize everything. I didn't pay attention and when I got home I saw they gave me a 1099-Misc. I am reading it's harder to justify deducting gambling loss from a 1099-MISC than a W2-G. Anyone else run into this? Will they redo the forms 2 weeks later?
There are rules specific rules casinos should follow for 1099 vs W2G. I assume those were followed correctly. But the situation is complicated and there are details not shared. I presume this was a sanctioned chop and not a private deal.
Since the net prize you recieved was below $5000 which is the threshold that requires a W2G, the 1099misc might be correct.
Since total was over the $5000 threshold, something must be reported to IRS. But each winner is under the W2G threshold. Thus the de is ion to issue 1099.
Casino might be wrong but unless you have definitive ruling or similar to support you the odds they retract 1099 and issue W2G are very slim. The odds the do i5 for only one of the three are virtually nil..
6/12 O8 with 5/10 KILL REPORT
HOURS PLAYED - between 2-10p Sat/Sun.
Table was mostly full. All your usual suspects.
Old friend M bought in for $800 and lost most of it. One gent scooped a $600 pot, only to lose all of that later.
Several players chanting "**** that ****" later in the night with the dealer leading
Italian grinder sandwich was served open faced and toasted, which was unnecessary. Not horrible. Comped, which is nice!
RESULT +705
I may have to start coming down here more regularly. Took a while for the table to start on Sunday, both days tables broke around 9-10
Service was much improved, tipping $2 a round probably helped. kept my diet full!
Whoops 10/20 kill. Makes for spicy action, but kills the table faster
That $600 scooper was capped preflop and went to the river, no low
Also interesting was that one or two light beers for the seniors at the table really loosens them up. Might be worth it to buy a round for the table
