Seattle
Are there any regular LO8 games running in/around Seattle these days? I'll be in SEA for a few days at the end of Septe
7 CEDARS CASINO $300 POKER TOURNEY LUNCH BUFFET AUGUST 2025 TRIP REPORT
- like 3 hot food stations
- beef stroganoff. old country buffet quality. mushy noodles. underseasoned but good for the senior palette i'm guessing. no pepper whatsoever
-veggies. boiled to buffet tenderness
- rice or something? maybe it was a salad?
breads
This dish was chosen because it has mushrooms, and the event was 60's themed IIRC, and therefore because hippies ate mushrooms as drugs, the person in charge then related that to the beef stroggy.
That being said, I don't think the finsihed product actually had mushrooms
I'm not making this up, I overhead the convo.
for breakdast, cookies were served.
---------------
Also I'm kind of annoyed that little creek has had a poker series with O8 last month and I had no idea.
people in this thread, can you remind me if there are any annual events or whatever coming up in our state?
do I just need to go to poker atlas?
sincerely, s42w
-------------
their pizza place isnt that bad
Whoops 10/20 kill. Makes for spicy action, but kills the table faster
That $600 scooper was capped preflop and went to the river, no low
Also interesting was that one or two light beers for the seniors at the table really loosens them up. Might be worth it to buy a round for the table
What venue was that?
LOL i didn't put that in. aces lakewood aka the former Grand Central Casino which still has all the old branding up
Attendance was bad last weekend due to the little creek tourney / mariners game / etc or whatever?
This game always runs one table so you may be due for a wait if its like normal
Aces poker lakewood Friday report
6/12 o8 died after an hour
1/3 game was fun with good action
BBQ bacon cheeseburger is actually decent, with good bacon
Wings are also decent
Fish n chips are trash apparently
Tap water tastes like plastic
very diverse table. couple of retired koreans, couple of milfy/ancient asian ladies, some younger goofy white guys, old black guy, indian (red dot) drinking a marg with his friend, old fat guy who couldn't hit a flop, old white guys (one in a dress), vietnamese guy
i'd estimate 1k-1500 in rebuys in my 6-8 hour session. I ended up +$40 after being stuck 200, JJJ vs 2pair, old korean guy. Always enjoy taking their chips!
ACES LAKEWOOD SATURDAY NITE LIVE
Got on the wait list via their website. 4th on the 6/12 list; was seated shortly after my smoke break
Me, senior white guy, rest senior Asians, two ladies. No short stacks. The senior that usually buys in for 80 has 5.5x that in front of him
Room is pretty full, might run the bacon cheez again
In 1/3. Dealt 67o in the sb. Family pot.
Flop 667
Turn 6 high hand yay
First one in probably 7 years! $250
Their diet is pretty decent. Definitely generic brand but good carbonation and cola flavor.
Flopped a set of queens vs a short stack, misplayed it. Should've smooth called his flop $15 bet as I had position, but instead I made it $45 and he folded.
I'm rusty!
Second set of the night, ocho x3, $200 pot
Moved to a lower stress table, no professionals
And I lost all my sugar, j8 vs aa. Gdi should've left whilst ahead
44 in the bb, straddled to 7. Four players.
Flop quads. Check flop, lady after me bets 10, 2 callers. Turn is a 2, checked around
River is an ace. Guy before me bets $300 with a rivered wheel, I scoop a $570 pot and am on the board for hh.
The guy who took all.my chips then gave them all to the old Asian guy, flush vs flush, jq vs 25
Lol $200 preflop jj vs 22 vs kk
Flop Jxx, turn K, river deuce!!! Three way set over set over set
Holy crap!
hh held for $250, and a straight flush just got announced a minute after my hh!!
Final result +536
If I win a hh tomorrow, it's $400 instead of $250.
Wheee
What a wild session! Got quads twice in one night, and both held for high hand, unbelievable.
Player who cracked my aces apparently had been there since the day before and was dozing off at the table
So many bad/wild players. One old man had 76 on an 75x board. he went all in apparently vs 55, a flopped set.
two weekend total: +1223
LESSONS LEARNED:
- Always keep your stack maxed at 300
- if there are too many tight players at your table, request a change
- slowplay flopped quads
- if you're aces get cracked or you get a bad beat, rebuy and move on. don't snap quit. there will be plenty of opportunities to get paid from all the droolers
SUNDAY ACES POKER LIVE BLOG
1/3 started at noon. $100 hh, plus a Seahawks splash pot promo.
Got AK, pfr to $7, 5 callers. I'm in position
Flop AKJ
bet $20. Ancient asian maverick calls.
Turn 3. Ancient bets $80, I call.
River 4. Ancient goes all on for a stack. Shows A3s. I scoop a $210 pot.
I think the o8 game may be dead, just 4 on the list.
Observations
No one ever asks for a new setup
Hh is now $250
Seahawks splash pot is only for one table
Got KK twice, ace hit the flop both times.
First I let it go, second bet $50, one caller, check turn, river king, checked as the guy who gave me action had been getting
killed
Someone left the table, so we're back to 8 handed. The maverick thing is odd
Been card dead for hours, finally picked up QQ for a decent pot
The guy who I flopped quads yesterday is at the table and totally misremembers the hand, he said he flopped a straight. Not possible on a paired flop
Got on the board with quad ochos, only to be beaten 1 minute later by a q high straight flush, GDI
did scoop.a.decent pot though
Good seat change though
Info: if you get a hh, any following hhs are good until the following Thursday, which is evidently reset day
This is a pretty cool promotion
Edit: plus free wings. Ppl order wings to go, bust out, and leave em here
ACES LAKEWOOD LIVE BLOG #3
10.14.25: Fancy Players
1hr15min drive, went fast. About 20 minutes to get a seat.
Get AA In the bb. 6 players call, I make it $25. Asian male 55+ hems and jaws for a moment then goes all in.
AA vs KK hero wins
About 5 minutes later I get KK in middle position. 55+ white male makes it $20, I make it $40. He calls.
Flop 974 two spades
Same bet $40, he calls
Turn T spades (flush on board)
I bet $50, he rr to $100, I call.
River T
I check, he bets $200, I call, he says good call and shows AK
+615
I really want to hit and run, I'm only here for the $499 hh anyways.
Time to bounce! A trip to WinCo and the park should eat up an hour.
Gave a bit away but still came home with sugar. Lesson learned: LOCK UP THE +615 WIN AND GO HOME
Wow, the area around aces lakewood sucks. Hasn't changed for 20+ years.
I went to wapato park, about 11 mins away. It's very pretty, with lots of huge pretty trees; in stark contrast to the area surrounding. This place still has trailer parks. A LOOOOONG ways towards gentrification.
I'll be up north saturday, so the next installment will probably be at the 1/3 PLO or NL at aces MLT
