Werner was pretty disastrous at Chelsea, to the extent they lost 20 million quid on him in two years despite him still not even being 27 when they sold him.

We obviously need support in the wide areas and there's no way he's not an upgrade on Gil (and probably Solomon), so we'll see. Not overly jazzed about this though.

Having watched him extensively at Chelsea, I was to see him go because it felt like he was doing a lot of things right but his finishing just wasn't there. King of the offside goals or hitting the post.

The chelsea striker curse is real and so far only Diego Costa managed to break it

Nathan Jones just described James McAtee as a young Bernardo Silva. Thoughts sixfour?

Cocaine is a hell of a drug

Werner to spurs on loan is great business imo

does SUN v NEW historically make the top 5 of UK derbies? if not, the top 10?

Top five for me, as it gives us belters like this:

My bloke at the pub take is that Werner would have absolutely lit it up if he would have gone to Pool as was rumored forever.

how come none of ya'll put haaland or salah on your all time list - i'm ignorant of anything beyond last few years but definitely feel like they would be contenders

omg i just realized newcastle doesn't have regular horses on their emblem

Well it's not that Salah isn't, it's a case of the best team using only one player from each club, and Salah on the wing has good competition adn Liverpool also have other all time greats.

Haaland has played one season....

i lost a lot of money on werner extrapolating his champions league brilliance to "he'll soon figure it out at chelsea"

With Firmino and now Henderson wanting out of Saudi, do we think more will bail or is this it?

Totally. Reminds me a lot of when Podolski went to Arse. Utility forward who probably is what he is at this stage, but tons of German caps and at worst he'll be a very useful rotation option.

Also worth pointing out that as a forward, he's a nice contrast to Richy. In other words one plays predominately off the shoulder and one back to goal. In Friday's game, his pace would likely have caused Burnley significantly more problems than Richy did.

At £15m quid, what's not to like?

And he would have spooned all the chances wide just like Richy did

The fact he will spoon all the chances wide. Still as above its low risk.

Henderson has smashed this one. Go over there, earn £700k a week tax free for a year, then come back preaching the "error of your ways" but with another 30 million quid in the bank.

Perhaps, but Werner instead of Richy (albeit it would probably have been Werner for Skipp, with Gio as the 8 and Kulu as the 10) would have forced Burnley's back line to drop 20 meters.

Plus it's only fair that both norf landn teams have their ex-chelski banter player

Although now that I look at it, the guy has only started 2 Bundesliga games this season, scored 1 non-pen goal and been altering between sitting on the bench and injuries

He's losing out a spot to Sekso and Poulsen and Openda so maybe a bit optimistic to get back his Chelsea level, let alone his pre-Chelsea level

Trent already said **** it, I'm not defending that

It's annoying that neither team are in red.

What the hell are those arsenal shirts? Did Rwanda pull the plug on them?

Bamford’s goal today rivals Porro for goal of the round

Oh if only a striker was there

Lol yeah I mean its low risk but tough to get massively excited by it.

Especially when watching Havertz today in the lolexChelsea scheme of things.

If rumours of us somehow being in for Conor Gallagher are true though, that's much better

I swear havertz just cannot strike a ball with any conviction

+1

This always triggers me

Almost as much as Klopp playing a full strength team with a thinning squad to best case snatch a draw and complain some more about fixture congestion
