So we are indoors today.

The 12 minute restriction is a bit of overkill but they always err on the safer side at these temps.

I prefer -40 over 108. You can always add layers. But remove enough layers and you’ll be seeing blue and red lights soon enough.

I try to keep the shades drawn in the summer, but sometimes the neighbors get the full money.

hey man i live in the ghetto of park city

One of my college friends is a professor in a smaller school. Utah has cities, said cities have inner-cities. So you have an inner-city that's all white people.

Where you can buy a 1/8th share of a house for only $750K, if you don't mind that one of the other owners finances his share by using it to cook meth?

Approximately how far from Freshies Lobster?

by JackInDaCrak k

I went to Chulo Taco which I believe is near you, recently opened. It's pretty solid as is the venue for the food hall stand.

Thanks for the recommendation, Jack. I'm more north, but get over that way occasionally. Will try to remember this when in the area.

2 minute walk. You know its a rough section of town when they have stores that specialize in overpriced lobster rolls

didn’t have Rick down as Your People

g-man, you should have been involved in the procurements department not the academia department cause then you could suck on the teat of your former bidders as a "consultant' for a few years once you retired

If I’m reading this right we’re in the same profession too. We might be the same person. Ever seen us in the same place at the same time? I didn’t think so.

For realz. I was worried about leaving the car parked when walking around. Don't know what sort of lobster eatin' riffraff are out and about.

Dont even get me started about parking for skiing. Us poor folk cant afford to ski the park city side cuz they charge 25 bux to park. We have to make the commute to the canyons side where they force us to go cuz its free - all kinds o riffraff over there.

Shovelled 11" of snow off the driveway yesterday, that's quite a lot for our neck of the woods.

You need to get the electric snow blower that KingSpew’s neighbor was using. Should allow you to move an inch of snow an hour.

Neighbour had this cute little battery operated hand held shovel that was a mini-snowblower, actually looked kinda useful for the soft stuff that we got yesterday. Not so sure it would be very useful with our typical wet sloggy heavy stuff.

That’s what King’s neighbors had. If you live where it nukes snow it’s a must to own a decent sized gas operated snowblower. I’m pretty sure I could shovel faster than the mini snowblower.

Ever since Copper raised their parking pass to $700 a few years ago, I've become a grumpy old man about parking.

Colorado pass + coppper parking pass = bliss ?

Fiddy/fiddy chance it has actually become an urban legend and Slim wasn't even the one to tell the story.

Couldn't help but think of this thread. I might get in a round of golf tomorrow, before it cools off (to the 60's!) next week.

We have hired some new staff over the last 2 or 3 months. So had a team meeting in office on Wednesday. Everyone to meet everyone face to face, etc.

Wife decided to have icebreakers in the AM. One of those games where you answer a question after pulling a card or whatever. Question was pulled "Describe a funny incident that you recall that could have been in a movie"..something to that effect

Someone described dropping their phone and breaking right after they bought it and I elected to tell this gem of a story.

went to local dive bar last night

opened a tab and put all drinks on it for the 3 of us - was not counting but there were a minimum of 10 drinks ordered

bill before tip was $59

that's like 3-4 drinks back home in a much smaller town

bar was also lined with slot machines as they have a loophole where you can literally peview what the next spin will be before doing so and thus it's a "game of skill"

something i'm going to research today to see if there's any ap spots there

but i'm bringing it up because it brought up an old trope i've dealt with my entire life

my buddies instantly assume that i'm going to be all about and want to gamble it up - they don't understand that i genuinely have no interest in non ev gambling and they are even like "oh come on we know you're dying to do it" so i instead just kind of watch them do it and they get some bonus spins and are up like $50 right off the bat and i'm like "oh sweet well you can cash out whrenever and guarantee a profit" and I'm kind of trying to talk them into not doing it without being a debbie downer, eventually with "hey let's go shoot some pool" i get them off the machines after they lose like $40 overall

just found it funny how I got to experience how people view what i do from their perspective - oh no he's gambling again, got to get him to stop while he's ahead

there are exceptions but i have found it very difficult for the general public to fully grasp AP gamboolin and what goes on behind the scenes blah blah blah.

I cant begin to count the number of times I have been asked if I had ever hit rock bottom.

what the fcuk does that even mean?

Ferreels though, I think I get it easiest when I’m walking out of the poker room at the casino at say midnight on a Sat after playing 10 hours. I’m wearing t shirt shorts and probably flip flops and am stony cold sober and exhausted. Just want to have a shower and get to bed and drive home regretting the things I did that cost me $$

All around me are young guys and girls dressed up in their best, drunk and throwing huge money at -ev games. Loud music etc. For them it’s a fun, glamorous and exciting place where they make bad decisions, will almost certainly lose cash but might get lucky. And I think that’s what most people think about that world. Glamorous with occasional highs but a load of lows

My wife has a trope about me that I win money at poker and lose it at the tables in Vegas. Seems pretty accurate, stripper stages are a type of table.
