please return with an honest critique of bobby rush live
Bobby Rush was terrific. He said he has recorded 419 songs and remembers 350. He talked a little bit about hanging out with "old guys" when he was 17. The old guys were Muddy Waters, B.B. King, John Lee Hooker, etc. They were around 30. He said, and I take some of what he said with a grain of salt, that he was offered "Hoochie Coochie Man" but told the composer to give it to Muddy because he wasn't old enough to sing it.
The guy is 90 years old and did an hour and a half show without missing a beat. His songs were filled with innuendo which really wasn't innuendo at all. Nice to see a 90 year old bouncing around like he was. James Montgomery sat in for a harmonica solo.
I liked this song.

Howlin' Wolf - Smokestack Lightning
No idea who is playing guitar on this famous recording, but he is a master.
I'll leave it with Mike Bloomfield's guitar.
Holy ****; it’s 1969 again. Nice job Phat Mac.

Bobby Rush won the Grammy, his third, the other night for best traditional blues album. Not bad for a ninety year old.

Pretty sure it's Hubert Sumlin. That smile has me smiling.
Sidemen: Long Road to Glory
an intimate look at the incredible lives and legacies of piano player Pinetop Perkins, drummer
Willie 'Big Eyes' Smith and guitarist Hubert Sumlin, all Muddy Waters and Howlin' Wolf sidemen.
Saw this guy tonight. He's not in good shape these days, but he still moved around the audience and sat next to us playing for a few songs. I had to help him out of his chair.
