[Unibet] Official Thread

This is the new official thread that we'll use to replace the unofficial one.

I've been posting in there as Sciolist, so please direct any PMs to me here instead.

For those of you who haven't been following that thread, let me explain what we're doing. Good players are getting better every year so the skill gap with new players is always increasing. This means new players go broke faster. Sites that don't react to that will decline, as Unibet have been doing for several years.

We decided to take a gamble and make our own standalone site. We launched on March 3rd with a PC desktop version and have since brought out a mac client, an iOS client and a browser client.

Our philosophy is to make the game a level playing field. We do not allow HUDs, trackers or any scripts. We do not allow table selection, but we do allow players to change their identity up to three times per day.

However, we don't want to scare away regulars. We don't segregate player pools or hide tables from anyone. We pay out as much in our loyalty scheme as we ever did on MGS, but now the top and bottom ends are more generous, at the expense of the middle.

We have much lower rake at NL4, NL10, PLO4 and PLO10. We think this makes players move up in stakes faster, which we think is of benefit to everyone.

Talking of loyalty, we have an innovative scheme called Challenges which assigns you a task like "be dealt aces 50 times" then gives you points for completing it. There are minor Challenges (all are preflop) that take approximately 1,000 hands and there are major Challenges (postflop) that take approximately 10,000 hands. Each Challenges season lasts one quarter, so the next will start on July 1st.

Yesterday three good things happened:

1. We launched the Danish client and we will soon be shutting down fully on MicroGaming.
2. We had our best ever cash game rake day which is very unusual during the summer, particularly during the world cup.
3. We won two eGR awards, one in poker innovation, and one in poker marketing innovation. Unibet also won Innovation of the Year.

That makes it a good time to start an official thread too. I'd like to avoid too many support queries - we have a whole department for that. But I'm happy to hear about bugs, feedback, requests, and basically anything else you like.

As someone that has played on Unibet on and off for 7 years I was disappointed at the start of this year a "loss limit" was added to my account of £500. I suspect that this was due to me withdrawing a large amount in December and re-depositing about 1/3 of the withdrew amount at the start of this year. I've consistently played the 200 and 400nl tables for years and now am unable to do so.

On two occasions this week I've sat on the "Live Chat" within the website support and honestly they're completely useless. Feels like talking to a bot or someone that doesn't understand the questions I've asked. During these live chat conversations I've remained calm and patient but honestly its extremely frustrating.

Unsure if posting here will help/hinder my cause to have this loss limit removed but as someone that has played on this site for years its very frustrating. I'd like to also add that I've never had this issue with any other site I play poker on (PS, 888, Betfair etc).

It's nothing to do with depositing 1/3rd of the amount withdrawn. Have a look at the UK's gambling regulations on loss limits and affordability checks.

I get that but I've been playing on there for 7 years without issue until now. Also there has been no changes on any of the other sites for me.

@Stubbe-Unibet

We can use The School but for OMAHA? Or this option gonna be available soon?

Thanks!

As mentioned earlier, we don't do any type of support through here. Please use the official channels (for instance community), if you wish to get the attention of the poker team.

General comment on loss limits: these can be increased by providing source of wealth/funds. Live chat support can assist with this.

When I log in I get the message "player disabled" on acc "How_Lucky".

Now what?

Ok, I installed again and it works.

Why does this keep happening?

This one seemed to a be a short term tech issue as it was reported by other customers as well. It working after the reinstall was just a timing coincidence.

I see, How Lucky.

Unibet is now able to add dutch players to their regular reward program/give rakeback. Ksa has now made clear its legal to offer.

Unibet when are you adding dutchies? Ill be happy to come back to your site after my volume has gone 100 to gg poker past years

How did you read that article and come to the conclusion that loyalty systems are legal?

It just looks like they're clarifying you can't give bonuses based on loses.

"This also encourages excessive participation. Players bet higher, take more risks and play more often." - This is exactly what a loyalty system can potentially do to a player.

KSA now explicitly states "a bonus based on losses" is not legal instead of "a cashback bonus". Specifically refering to what's actually illegal; the more a player loses the more he receives back.
Therefor, cashback/rakeback seems entirely legal, is not a bonus based on losses but just an amount of money a player gets back in exchange for wagering.

KSA has made it pretty clear now, its not cashback that's the problem, but rewarding losing players.
Also, the law specifically allows for reward/loyalty programs.

There is no reason for Unibet to not offer Dutch players rakeback anymore, as the term "cashback" has been sort of the issue all this time (also by talking to Unibet staff myself). Not anymore.

GG poker has been offering their cashback reward system for over 2 years now to Dutch players and has not discontinued their offerings. They seem to not have received a warning in regards to their loyalty program by KSA and actually have had fish buffet in tact from day 1 after receiving their licence.

Serious suggestion for you guys...

A lot of people seem to be worried there is some collusion going on in your cash games. Why don't you reshuffle the deck including preflop folded hole cards before the flop?

About HexaPro Extreme, is there a reason that there is only one day a week where you can play for an amount inbetween .20 cent and 5€?

Just saying, at the 5€ games, there is never anyone there and the .20 cent games get boring real quick. And sitting there at the 5€ games and wating half an hour and still no game, that gets old even quicker.

There are HexaPro games for one-fifth of a cent?

Hm, I could have written that better, it's 20 cents or 5€ and one day a week you get also 1 and 2€.

Sorry for the confusion.

Any 100/200nl players interested in joining a study group DM me. Would like to have a study group of Unibet players to discuss, gto, exploits, reg/rec population tendencies, finding nodes of the game tree that are under used by population and therefore understudied ect

Is the site down for everyone else?

Is the site down for everyone else?

Yup. It's being looked into rn. Browser version still works though, if you fancy playing (up to) 4 tables...

Client back up now

Mission of the day is to play HexaPro on the mobile application. Mobile and PC application does not work. Error during update! It seems like the first of April has already passed or not?
