Bitcoins - digital currency

Bitcoin is a peer-to-peer digital currency. Peer-to-peer (P2P) means that there is no central authority to issue new money or keep track of transactions. Instead, these tasks are managed collectively by the nodes of the network. Advantages:

  • Bitcoins can be sent easily through the Internet, without having to trust middlemen.
  • Transactions are designed to be computationally prohibitive to reverse.
  • Be safe from instability caused by fractional reserve banking and central banks. The limited inflation of the Bitcoin system’s money supply is distributed evenly (by CPU power) throughout the network, not monopolized by banks.

Total size 5,811,700 BTC
or 4,585,431 USD
or 3,545,137 EUR
or 133,094,323 RUB
or 3,849 ounces of gold

Any value to this idea or will it never work?

Day 1 of Copa vs CSW. Here's a massive thread covering it - https://x.com/bitnorbert/status/17544145...

The way I understand it is COPA has to prove he isn't Satoshi, he gets to prove he is and then the court decides.

Let's hope he doesn't win on some technicality.

From an article , the lawyer of « satoshi » :

"If Dr Wright were not Satoshi, the real Satoshi would have been expected to come forward to counter the claim," he said.

Didn’t know it was easy to comeback from the dead to come forward.

If that is all they got for arguments …

I'll be curious to see what your re-entry point it. I sold all my GBTC a few days ago, price went up like $200 shortly after, and that's all it took for me to put the entire thing back into BITB. That's why I don't trade, just buy and hold,.

jeez well this was humbling lol.

and this is why I hate being partially out of the market.

think I’ll take the L and purchase the FBTC this week.

BTC doing BTC things by reaching levels as a % of ATH never reached before previous halvings.

ETF demand gobbling up 500% of daily supply just a slight new wrinkle this time around.

Ha that's funny. That's my old place. Memories.

It’s almost like it’s built into the code.

What does this even mean? They do instant settlement. Not t+2. You should've seen at time of tx whether your bid was matched or not.

It was fulfilled... then they clawed back the order saying the ach didn't approve the transfer of funds. The assets were in my cb account for 5 days, then a portion 95% was clawed back. It is interesting that there was 5% that was left untouched in my account even though they said ach had refused the payment.
I went round and round trying to get them to honor the original orders at the original order fill price because the money was sitting in the bank untouched... but despite escalating it, they said they could not... so I resubmitted the orders at today's prices.
I didn't loose monies, but I did loose portfolio value.

gotcha. tardfi sucks

Sold a good chunk at 46k and bought back in at 41k. My trigger finger is currently very itchy.

sell 45, buy 40, sell 50 buy 41, sell 54, buy 31, sell 69

Almost there

not sure you'll get the buy 31 part.

Arbitrage at these levels isn't going to be profitable... it's a better idea to Arbitrage when the movements are a larger percentage of total value as opposed to merely dollar value.

Coinbase earnings killed wall street expectations today

Buying COIN in Dec ‘22 would’ve been a great move. It bottomed around $30.

Would anybody be shocked if it hits north of 500 this bull run?

That is incredible! Kudos to you.

I bought some COIN and MSTR in Q4 2023 (in anticipation of the likely approval of spot BTC ETFs) but wish I had done so monthly throughout 2023. Also in a tax-free account. I see the MSTR as the purer BTC play, almost an ETF without the fees. However, I think COIN has more upside potential during the coming bull run as it can benefit both directly (higher exchange fees) and indirectly (expanded customer base) from higher crypto prices and sentiment. Also, COIN can pump when BTC is dominant, during altcoin season, and during memecoin season, whereas MSTR is more BTC dependent. Finally, I think COIN has more appeal to non-crypto-savvy investors than MSTR because its business model is easier for them to grasp.

Just for diversification, I also bought a small amount of STCE, the Schwab Crypto Thematic ETF. COIN and MSTR were the top two holdings when I bought it, though it also holds mining stocks and digital payment companies like PayPal and Square (along with GameStop and AMC, I recently discovered, which just seems stupid). I'm curious to see how a diversified basket like that fares compared to COIN and MSTR on their own.

I agree but if my only miss is not buying in again after 3x profit I will survive
