It's an everyone thing in Italy, with center left and center right parties (which in Italy tend both to have pro capitalist and anti capitalist voters) caught in the crossfire of an impossible position with their voters (the center left especially).
On Italian Twitter the correlation between being clearly pro capitalism and so pro Israel, and viceversa, is more than 0.9

Tbh what I read is that you thought victor had admitted rape happened (and maybe he did to you in private), but the he seems to be back to rape denial.

Why do you think the sliding scale matters when discussing someone's pain or trauma?
if you break your leg, is it just as broken if your neighbor also broke his back?
If someone is a rape victim, are they still a rape victim if meanwhile someone else is dead?
Where does your need to measure the two side by side come from? And what is the need for?
You answer my simple question first.
rape might have occurred. but not in the way the NYT reported it. and I think it was very unlikely that it was a coordinated part of the attack or a goal.
as crossnerd said, rape always occurs at war. so I am not going to disqualify that some it happened in isolated situations.
but even on that level there has been no credible evidence.

Also just for the record, I don’t believe anyone in here cares terribly about women being raped during war. It’s just a gotcha point used whenever it suits people. This thread has been an excellent example.

I would bet that there was at least 1 rape on Oct 7 or 8 but that has nothing to do woth Hamas or Gaza or Islam. I don't think that an angelic women was gangraped while Hamas members threw her severed breast around I mean cmon.
Another thing is that there were many non-Hamas people who opportunistically infiltrated. Hamas seems much more disciplined and righteous than randos (and Israelis for that matter).

I get that. And that is why there should be independent investigations. Quite simply I am not going to believe Gentleman or the Israelis.

Because as I've explained, there's no point to your question in the context of today's discussion. You just want to hear someone say what you already know. And the answer to that just doesn't matter with regards to Israeli trauma. And it never will.
