He's already got his lawyer out there selling wolf tickets for him on the news.

Too bad his intended audience is watching ESPN 24/7.

sick accomplishment by the PSU edge

sick accomplishment by the PSU edge

"According to ESPN's Stats and Information, Robinson's 1.54-second split is tied for fourth among edge defenders weighing at least 250 pounds since 2003."

No idea who has it correct.

I looked up Montez Sweat split on his 4.41 dash. Some sites list it at 1.50 others at 1.54. He was 260 pounds though.

Yep. That seemed obvious rather than bold

Bold!

it appears that Nate Wiggins (DB - Clempson) just did his groin after running a 4.29 40

edit: now being reported as a hip flexor

better value trading to wendy's

A Big Mac meal would actually be more than what the Jets are probably going to get for him. They're not going to get more than a conditional 6th or 7th round pick for him or something like a 7th round pick swap. The latter might even be them giving up the slightly higher pick.

If they have to release him that's a $11.2mil cap hit instead of the $5.7mil dead cap penalty for trading him.

It would be joyful if they actually sent a late Rd pick with him to get off the contract

Besides Miami winning a playoff game next season, nothing would make me happier than to see Wilson be a top 5 QB next season and the Jets win < 5 games.

I find Salah to be really likeable and most people seem to think Joe Douglas is a good GM and certainly there have been some good draft picks. But at some point this can’t all be about a bad QB (that they picked anyway)

I’m guessing it was only the commitment to Rodgers that saved their jobs this offseason

Unless Bears can completely steer away from Caleb and Daniels (which leaves only Maye), and with rumblings that NYG want to trade up to #3 or better, this makes the most sense to me:

1. Bears trade their #1 and #75 picks to NYG for their #6, #39, and next year's 1st rd pick.

2. Bears draft OLT Joe Alt @ #6 to replace their current OLT Braxton Jones, who has a hamstring and missed 6 games last year.

3. Bears draft WR Malik Nabers @ #9 to solidify their passing corps.

4. Bears draft the best DL/DT or CB available @ #39.

A lot of noise has been made about the extra $ it will cost to keep Fields. In fact, Bears will save $3.6M by keeping Fields this year and avoiding the additional salary paid to a #1. Bears will be on the hook for 2025 if they want to keep Fields, but that only happens if Fields has a good 2024 season.

That, and the opportunity to fill big gaps in the OL and CB. And getting a 2025 1st rounder (which could be top 5 knowing how bad NYG might be) , takes additional pressure off the Bears' cap issues along with a backup in case they need to draft a QB if Fields flops in 2024.

FWIW I think it would be a terrible deal for NYG.

are you drunk? is it April 1?

1. Bears aren't trading out.
2. If they did, they'd want more than 3 1st rounders, not 2x1s and a 2 and sending back a 3
3. did I miss some kind of suicide note from the Bears GM?

I'm certainly ok with that, but I highly doubt NYG is dumb enough.

The suicide note will be found when Caleb flops and Fields gets into the playoffs with his new team.

Bears fans are most likely believers of the alternate world hypothesis, in which every move they make is wrong. Keeping Fields is by far the least risky proposition.

I don't think I've seen a single mock that had Nabers available at #9?

This guy went to college, apparently for 5 years:

In a 3 season career:

Pretend you don't know who these QB stats are. Do you want him to be your QB1? It's a neat trick if you can be the leading rusher on your team, but you have 10 wins and missed 11 games due to injury. Wonder why.

He has a 60% completion percentage, has averaged 2,225 yds passing, has thrown 40 TDs and 30 INTs, and has a QBR of 26.4, 56.3 and 46.1. I guess if you want to convince yourself that it's because the OL sucks and he doesn't have any recievers to throw to, then sure, give him another year. But hoping next years #1 pick you traded for will be a top 5 pick and you can get a franchise QB there seems a little optimistic to me.

If I'm the GM I'm taking whichever QB I like the best and getting whatever draft pick I can get. There's desperate teams out there and if a 7th is all I can get, so be it. FWIW I like Drake over Caleb, but that's another discussion.

Bears were 5-3 last 8 games, including a game they gave away against the Browns.

Even with Fields and no improvement they have a decent chance of winning the division assuming they can replicate their form of those 8 games. Of course they will be significantly better in key areas that they were weak at in '23.

If my GM refuses deal where I can get 3 1st rounders from a bad team and keep a QB that can win and is still under cost control, no doubt he's fired.

Welp. Mitch Trubisky went 12 and 4 in 2018, so if Fields doesn't work out, you can always get him back on the cheap. Bad quarterbacks can go 5 and 3 on an 8 game sample. Doesn't mean they are a winner.

What y'all know about winning?

Now that we are bringing up Trubisky, odds on Caleb getting 12 wins (assuming Bears draft him) in '24?

Nobody knows if a QB is a winner until the season is over. The question is can he win.

I want Jets to trade up and draft Marvin Harrison Jr.
