UK vs Tennessee recap:

by ligastar k

Rock Chalk w one FG and five TOs 8:36 in

is that good?

edit: later into the game ... HOU 19 pts off TOs, KU zero pts off TOs

welcome to the B12 indeed

How things change, eh? I don’t have the best memory but I think this is the first team under Self that has gotten worse over the course of the year. He’s done a terrible job this year. This team is ****ing horrible.

KU will be just fine. 'off years' are a thing. i hope Dickinson is alright and able to play in the NCAAT

that consecutive regular season conference title streak is one of the most ELITE stats in cbb

keep in classy crazies

The UK lines the last few weeks have been some of the worst basketball lines I've seen in decades of handicapping. They just mowed down the creme de la creme of the SEC, have NBA talent all over the floor, are gelling lately ... and somehow are fashioned as nearly double digit dogs today. They are way better than all the SEC teams right now. 8 point dog. 5 point dog at Miss. State. I'm astonished that Vegas didn't get hip or even get a clue to how good they are right now, as they most always do when a team is way better than their earlier iteration, especially when it is a brand team in the limelight.

What? First off, are you complaining about Vegas setting bad lines? If so, you should be exploiting that, be happy, and be making mad cheddar yo.

2nd off, UK is 8-9 ATS in their last 17 games going back to Texas A&M on Jan 13th. What's exploitable about that?

Granted, they are 18-13 overall, but that is mostly due to a 6 game winning streak ATS from Dec 9th thru Jan 9th. Not very recent.

Maybe I misunderstood your post.

Ooh I looked at one line wrong for sure ... the recent Vandy game. Was traveling that day and thought I saw after the fact that they had been 9 and just shook my head that I was shut out on the game. Instead they were 19 and didn't cover. That was part of my bit. So instead of 6-2 last 8 just 5-3. The larger point stands that they just mowed down the SEC elite, two on the road and one demolition at home. Leading to the question: should they have been 5 pt. dogs at Miss. State and 8 pt. dogs today ... or was there incredible value in both spots? UK is the best team in the conference and getting 8. I had them pick'em with UT today and of course I slaughtered both those games + the points and outright.

Meanwhile UK just covered by 12, 20 and 20 against now first place SEC teams. Giving them 8 (twice recently) is bizarre it seems to me. Failed to cover by 2 twice. They are way outperforming the line right now it also seems.

An article in Yahoo Sports agrees with you. Saw you can get them at +2300 to win it all on fandual.

The Wildcats are the team that No 1 seeds should want to avoid.

A thrilling 85-81 victory at SEC champion and potential No. 1 seed Tennessee served as a reminder of how lethal Kentucky can be at its best. Antonio Reeves and Reed Shepard both scored 27 points as the Wildcats built an 11-point lead with 2:35 remaining and withstood a late rally from the Vols.

Since a Feb. 10 home loss to Gonzaga, Kentucky has won seven of its past eight games, the only setback coming at the buzzer at LSU. An array of future NBA perimeter players spearhead one of the nation’s highest-powered offenses and the Wildcats have shown badly needed signs of competence defensively.

Is Kentucky still susceptible to an early round upset if it shoots poorly from the perimeter and regresses to its pre-February defensive form? Absolutely. But the talent-laden Wildcats’ ceiling is as high as anyone, and that makes them a team the likes of Houston, Purdue and UConn should not want to draw.

UK is +400 to win the SEC tournament on DK right now.

the media really botched the U's prediction

If Indiana State isn't in the field

why should they be?

Get all these trash power teams like Virgnina Villanova Utah and Colorado all the way out of here

why is every B1G team not named Purdue or Illinois not also on this list?

texas st. vs. arkansas st. in the sunbelt final would be a cinderella story

1/2 of the way there

I'm talking about the lines on the UK games, not who is going to win the title. I figured that highly unwarranted leap was coming. The fact of UK getting 8 points in games right now is one of the most bizarre things in the history of the sport, but is not to be conflated with great prospects to win it all. I've been in the Calipari win's one title only camp for decades. In the undefeated 38-0 season in the Final Four, same thing from me. They ain't winning it and everybody in the Tampa Hard Rock just shook their head at the "anti-Kentucky guy." LOL. So you've got some kind of Sklansky bucks value in taking them to title, but it ain't cashing in my book. I hope he fools me in a way. I took them at 12/1 to make the Elite 8 when they had lost 3 straight at Rupp, and everybody panicking and giving up onthem. You know, with the NBA players all over the court and up and down the bench. The further Calipari goes, the more he starts to, well, pull up.

Talk about a crapshoot
