I’m very curious now minnesota responds. Panicked godfather trade for 1.1 to pacify Jefferson seems in play
fwiw (prob nothing) big daddy drew sez:
What’s more important here is that I AM ****ING FREE. My team is utterly bereft at QB and will probably field a combo special of Sam Darnold and a dipshit rookie in 2024, and guess what?
I. Don’t. Give. A. ****.

agreed
thought maybe they'd go full rebuild this year and trade jj for draft capital
committing like $900 million to 3 linebackers on day 1 fa suggests otherwise
odds for most teams' "position of 1st player drafted" are on the board, chi and min are notably not

surely there’s no way that the Bears
1. Eschew the chance to draft a generational QB prospect in favour of a limited below average guy who has hardly developed in 3 years
2. Trade that pick within their division?
Imo the only way they trade out if 1 is if they swap picks with Washington and pick up a good amount of extra capital
probably but then it is the bears, a franchise deathly allergic to generational QBs

I’m on record that fields ain’t **** but I’m also on record that Caleb ain’t ****
It’s a very unique situation cuz I would think the fiasco of 2021 where we were promised the greatest qb draft ever would serve as a warning sign that these guys ain’t ****. Literally mac Jones went for a 6th to the same team that had the 1 pick the year he was drafted
I really feel like the bears only move is to sell 1.1 to some cluster**** team willing to overpay and sell fields to some cluster**** team willing to give an asset or two. There’s no way you can convince me nix or penis on a rookie deal doesn’t make this team better off with the additional assets they get than either of Caleb or fields at qb
Predictably Ravens have had a quiet day, although not a ton of cap room to maneuver with. Have already lost 4 free agents. Glad they got Madubuike locked up before some of these other contracts got inked.
Will probably bag one of these backs who doesn't sign for a while, I think.
CIN fans happy to take Stone off your hands g-bebe
you know strengthen your team while at the same time diminishing a division rival and all

"Generational QB prospect" LOL. There are FOUR guys now that, according to media hype, meet that criteria.
Bears should build with draft picks and save $ with Fields this year. If they miss the playoffs then go full speed ahead in 2025 with a "generational QB prospect" when Fields has played out his 4th year rookie deal. If they make the playoffs then pay Fields what he deserves.
At the moment Bears are 37:1 to win SB. And it is the Bears, if everything they do is wrong at least play it close to the vest and build up your team with as many draft picks as possible to reduce risk of relying on some overrated media darling that has never played an NFL game.
BOOM
Zach Moss to CIN, 2 yrs/$8m (not sure yet how much of that is guaranteed)
the RB i wanted in CIN this season
A+ today from the front office

It is what it is. Not really worried about the Bengals D to be honest.
Geno was insanely productive for us as a 7th rounder. Saw more snaps mainly because of Marcus Williams injuries, who one could argue might be worse -- but we've got him tied up for 3 more years. Will be interesting to see how Stone does outside of Macdonald's system and on what was a below average defense last year. Lamar will want to cook him for sure.
Sam Darnold 1 yr $10m from Vikings. OMFG. That better be like $2.5m g and the rest in incentives.
I thought their GM was supposed to be some kind of boffin?
Boncos going from Russ Wilson to Zach Wilson would be peak amazing
Mac Jones and Trevor Lawrence on the same team?? Sounds like a winning combination!
Looks like the trade market for Fields is gone. I wonder if they're willing to give him up for a 4th or 5th rounder to save the salary or let him compete with Williams for the starting spot?
I've read somewhere the Bears could use Caleb as Fields back-up for a season to learn under him, like Mahomes behind Alex Smith. First I thought that must be a joke but I think that person was serious.
Falcons sign Darnell Mooney, 3 years 39M, 26 gtd.
Seems rich to me, but he’s still quite young, so I guess it’s fine

Two fully guaranteed years at $13mil for what's probably a WR3 seems to be pretty high. Gabe Davis who got the same 3/39 deal doesn't even have the first year fully guaranteed and most people thought Jax significantly overpaid for him.
Pre free agency there was chatter that KC is interested in Mooney. The number floated at that time was 2/16 with 8 gtd.
But if the 2024 version of Mooney is more like the 2021/22 version instead of the 2023 version that deal might be fine?
Funny. I was yakking to a coworker saying the inflection point whether Henry was becoming a Raven would be about $8M/year.
Signs for 2/16.
I see all these teams making big moves and then look at Miami who's doing nothing but let great talent walk away and signing no one.
All so they can sign Tua.
Unless he's able to create plays and not be terrible against the good teams. Next season is going to suck.
Yea looking at the advanced stuff, it doesn't look like Jacobs is that much better of a rusher than Jones and Jones is definitely the better receiver.
I get that he's younger, but GB overpayed by a lot here.
