Update April 2018

OK Vlogger Thread, we are going with some new parameters to try to make this the POSITIVE vlogger thread that it is supposed to be, not the AIDS vlogger thread where a few loonies ruin it for the rest. Note that 'positive' does not equal 'only positive', it means anything negative being said CAN'T be namecalling or wild, unsubstantiated speculation regarding any and all vloggers. Personal lives and anything aside from poker is OFF THE TABLE.

A new update March 2019:
NO ****ING POLITICS!
Overall, many of you talk about myself and other vloggers in a somewhat negative tone. While some of what you say is true, I will argue that I'm living my best life. I wake up happy most days and get to spend time doing what I love; playing poker, video editing, gaming, and spending time with my friends. I love my life, and believe I can make it as a poker pro; if not, I have setup my plan B.
keep it light Pman
Dog food, lmao. 90% of this man's protein intake is Dollar Tree $1 Bar-S sausage and fish packs.
It's beyond hilarious how contrary Rice is with every single aspect of life. Basically he considers anything expensive and high quality to be dog food, and he considers the cheap processed dog food to be the premium stuff.
Just like hes constantly going to extremes so that he can live as cheaply as humanly possible while still claiming that he earns more money than he needs.
What have you done since you moved here the first time that shows significant improvement, mental fortitude and a strong foundational knowledge of basic preflop range charts and postflop play?
You have been given enough benefit of the doubt of working towards actually playing poker for a living. You have failed every step of the way and that's ok. You took your shot and you failed. Nothing wrong with that. In fact, it's commendable that you took a risk when most people don't. But enough's enough.
When are you going to realize that burying your head into a solver isn't going to fix the huge leaks in your game? You can't just say oh I'm gonna strive to be a professional poker player and poof, it just happens.
Serious questions. How many live low limit NL cash hours did you play last year? What was your win/loss rate? Why do you still defend trash out of the blinds? Why do you blame coolers as to why you lose or don't win as much as you think you should? Why does losing one or two hands cause you to take a walk to cool down?
Believe me, I'd love to be the first to congratulate you on your improvements and crushing 1-3 NL and watching you climb the levels. I've crushed low limit NL for years so I know what it takes and right now, you don't have it.
Sorry if that's too negative Nancy for you to take.

Don't think what I wrote was harsh - stuck to the facts. Like I said to you on YT, I'm not trying to step on your dreams, but you gotta face reality. Persistence & positive thinking only gets you so far.
Whoever you talk poker, hand histories with isn't skilled or truthful. There's been mentions of studying, coaching but no improvement in the quality of your game in three years shown which is telling in itself. Gambling is a persistent thorn in your side. You have other life issues that may be impacting things.
Many players (me included) understand where you're coming from. We all started out wanting to chase that dream of making poker a permanent source of income. However you have to acknowledge the fantasy element, put it aside and do the work. It's not always easy money and smooth sailing. Not being honest with yourself is a recipe for disaster. When you're having a hard go at 1/2, 1/3 and set your next goal as getting enough money thru a job to move up to 2/5 your head is in the wrong place.
You have to be willing to listen and take things constructively from people who honestly want to help. If you hold the mindset that everyone is just being negative and they're wrong / don't understand you aren't going to get anywhere. Those numbers I posted don't lie. Listing other sources of income is side stepping the issue which is at the heart of the matter.

Pman ain't reading all that.
"You are just miserable" - Diesel
Well if that's the case, he's truly in denial and doomed to fail. Which is sad because I think he could turn things around unlike Diesel.

It wasn't harsh, it was true, and I appreciate and respect you for it. Time will tell for my poker...if it is more than a dream or not. I dont disagree with you; while I have studied and been coached, my game still has some very basic leaks that needed plugged yesterday. As for Koshka, that guy has been giving me sh*t for years, I ignore him.
I have gotten MUCH better at being honest with myself. I want to succeed. I can't lie to myself or my poker friends for that to work. It's why I've started giving more accurate numbers in recent vlogs (and will continue to do so). I also want to bring back the lab and go over some hands; this can be time consuming to edit, but I think its worth it. I agree with your numbers; they're close to the real thing. I didnt mean to side-step the issue when posting the jobs / income, I just wanted you to have a better sense of my life.
Sincerely, thanks for your posts and comments, and I hope to continue our dialogue.
Most of us are rooting for you pman. Truly. Sometimes the hate is harsh so it's hard to see the good advice that exists in what appears to be negativity. A lot of players who successfully become pros start out not trying to be pros, they just naturally reach a point where their hobby becomes more profitable than their job. Maybe this is the path you should focus on?
Is working challenging for you? How did you like dealing? I always hated working, partly due to anxiety issues. But finding dealing and the casino business was very good for me and finally a decent job I could tolerate without hating life. Have you considered going back to dealing part time?
Coincidentally, almost the three year anniversary of "Left Home, Moved to Vegas! Pman Presents The Ride". How much more time you need?
You don't like my tone of my posts but everything I've said is on point.
He can’t get better because he’s a gambling addict. He says he’s living his best life getting his head kicked in at llsnl and never has had a winning sample at llsnl. Him and diesel are on opposite sides of the degenerate spectrum, with Diesel having a freak out whenever he experiences a $200 swing and Pman punting a dime in one night saying he played great.
Good to see Diesel survived his “last time” doing the comps challenge and the final reward is he gets to do a numbers kink video today recapping how he spent his comps.

I'm right there with you with anxiety issues. I enjoyed most nights dealing, and I'll always have that in my back pocket if push comes to shove. I get some people are being harsh but giving good advice, but there are also people who are just asshats spewing nonsense. As for the hobby / job path...I mean, yeah, i video edit and love doing it. It pays good. I like my boss a lot. We're a good team. But do I want to do it for life? No. I want to be a professional poker player. And the only thing stopping me is myself.
Thank you for your feedback, I'm going to bed, have a great day.
Diesel has mentioned in a few recent videos about not playing poker because he “had something to do”. He’s said this at least three times.
Can we speculate on this?
Has he maybe gotten a J-O-B?
Maybe he’s advising casino executives on how to make their casinos more profitable?
Pman, just remember. Your hourly is getting smoked by a guy that just completed a five day challenge only eating off comps earned and celebrated it by eating salmon and crackers that he owns, one of his go to items at a buffet is rice and mooches free food off strangers but will also offer random meats from the MGM platinum lounge as a way to pay it forward.
Let that sink in.

I cannot imagine Diesel getting a job at this point. He is also pretty much unemployable to almost any position considering how bad his mental state is, and how low his function levels in life seems to be. So even if he wanted to get some type of job, i am not sure he would manage to get hired.
Like, it would not surprise me if he is just trying to come off as more busy or important than he really is-and that he is just locking himself up in his room all day to watch old Trooper videos or some other things he is totally adicted to.

I don't find this very helpful or constructive
Pman, another thing to think about is that the pool of 1-3 Vegas player skill level has improved greatly over the years and will continue doing so. Reason why trooper had to quit the 1-3 grind. My suggestion is to not only study to get to 2-5 but to make sure you are caught up in skill level to the 1-3 Vegas player pool.

You think he got a part-time job at like UPS or something? I assume all of those types of jobs are constantly hiring and compared to the typical applicants Diesel looks like Wilt Chamberlain with his Ivy League cred, multiple degrees, and zero substance abuse issues other than carbs.
Or he has baseball fever? It is spring training and he seems to be playing a lot of that baseball grid game, plus he just drove to Canseco’s gas station to argue with a cashier about nothing.
I think it’s baseball stuff but based on other posters speculating here, I guess Diesel could have found another Latin girl on a dating app, he latched on to this girl and she’s happy this guy with unlimited freedom is giving her a ton of attention. Language barrier might help him seem less of a raving lunatic and the comps challenge is because he has blown a lot of money on this girl? Seems like a long shot though.

This made me LOL, what a reference.
Pman's issue in poker to me is so glaringly obvious, he has mike matusow blowup syndrome, plays well 95% of the time and then has a moment of insanity, probably from fatigue and tilt issues.
He has a coach and studies solvers and goes through hand histories, he's clearly studying.
I root for pman, he seems like a great dude but until he fixes his major leaks he will always be a breakeven/losing player.
