East feels very tough south easy and the other two average

The beach will take down arizona

You heard it here first and last

I for one would love to see RJ Davis style on Caleb Love.

One of the CBS guys said that Grand Canyon will beat Alabama because of their geographic advantage. How close does he think Phoenix and Spokane are?

Gonzaga and St Mary's both getting a 5 seed is very odd.

If it goes the opposite and Caleb does it on us, then I’m gonna be so mad at all the fans that bashed him and ran him off, and Hubert for basically doing the same in their end of year meeting. I’ll be mad but applaud him if so. I love that dude.

Caleb loves to be doubted. He's going for 30 if we play.

I lol'ed at this. If both teams have to travel over 1000 miles, I'd say there's no benefit to the closer team.

Michigan St shouldn't have gotten in right?

mcneese st. had an interesting non-con schedule:

11/06 VCU W 76-65 Away 1-0 0-0
11/10 College of Biblical Studies W 96-55 Home 2-0 0-0
11/13 Champion Baptist W 110-46 Home 3-0 0-0
11/14 Le Tourneau W 81-49 Home 4-0 0-0
11/18 W Carolina L 74-76 Away 4-1 0-0
11/21 Texas St W 59-48 Neutral 5-1 0-0
11/22 LA Tech L 62-71 Away 5-2 0-0
11/28 UAB W 81-60 Away 6-2 0-0
12/02 TN Martin W 91-80 Home 7-2 0-0
12/05 Mississippi Univ. For Women W 92-23 Home 8-2 0-0
12/13 S Mississippi W 67-48 Home 9-2 0-0

how does mississippi university for women ever come up in a scheduling conversation?

If it’s a 1 possession game under a minute to go, then you can just go ahead and pencil him in for a dagger winning bucket with no doubt.

Gonzaga and St Mary's both getting a 5 seed is very odd.

I would understand it if Gonzaga had won the title game but as is I'm shocked they got a 5. I wasn't at all prepared for them to come up when the bracket was being revealed, because why the hell would they be a 5.

McNeese/Samford could be a fun 2nd round game I guess.

Is that why he plays like **** 90% of the time?

I mean, he just won Pac12 POY of the year lol. I'm not a Caleb apologist, and I wasn't upset to see him go, but that doesn't mean he can't ball.

The dude has never been good at consistent decision making, but he just has a different attitude on the court when he's on. He definitely has the mentality he's the best player on the floor, and in single elimination March Madness, that's not exactly what I want to face. Especially since we are the team that forced him to move on.

by gmcarroll33 k

The difference is that UNC’s offense was always tops in the country and miles ahead of their defense, but by the time March rolled around their defense had improved and capable of winning it all. This is where it’s just never developed with Kentucky this year. I agree with Chuckles. I don’t want them in our bracket though.

They seem to have more moments of good D late in the season, but always mixed in with great weakness soon after. Some stat had them going from 105 in D efficiency to 53rd over the last month.

Luving my prediction circa a month ago after the Pitino meltdown that St. Johns would win the NIT this year. They got a shot.

Don't know about college basketball. I do know creigton all of sudden became the greatest shooting team ever when I bet against them last month. But not knowing much, I am wondering how much money will I lose during this tournment. Gave the bing ai image thing some words and this spat out.

More of a sign of how shitty the Pac-12 was than anything. In regards to the bolded, I guess so...but I'd much rather just have RJ Davis and actually have the best player on the floor.

This is one of the worst jobs I've ever seen from the committee. I don't normally subscribe to conference bias or name bias but it's pretty clear that's going on. When one of the committee members was asked about the Mountain West's seeds he said "they didn't win enough out of conference." Do these guys even watch the games? They had some big wins out of conference including pounding Creighton (a 3 seed) twice, St. Mary's, Gonzaga, etc. They also did a lot of dumb stuff like giving Florida Atlantic an 8 seed with 5? atrocious losses. In what world is a team like FAU the same seed as Utah State. I have no horse in this race but Utah State had zero bad losses, more wins, and won regular season title in a tough league. Is the committee just actually blind?
Same with Dayton. Zero wins against tournament teams? A 7?! Nevada. Ok, not great out of conference, but pretty damn good in a conference full of tourney teams. You can't just use bad arguments and ignore numbers. "they didn't win out of conference". Well actually these teams did, and they had almost no bad losses. That's stupid reasoning for actually ignoring numbers. I don't think Virginia and Michigan State had any business in the tourney either, just in because of name and/or previous success.

They seemed to care about preseason rankings for MSU Kentucky FAU Gonzaga

RJ is great, but his best skill is tough shot maker. That doesn’t always make him the best player on the floor. He has limitations, especially on defense.

I was of the opinion Caleb leaving would open up RJ’s offense. It has and for the better of the team. But you are underselling Caleb.

Hoping we get that far, but I don't think this team matches up with Zona's athleticism very good. It's gonna be fitting if it somehow comes down to a key shot from either Caleb or RJ.

A straight up majority of talking heads I've seen so far have predicted UConn to win it all. I mean they are the favorite, but they are just +400 favorites. I know it is common sense but if you are looking to win any large office pool I would take anyone but UConn to win it.

My all-names team from this week

Jizzle James, CINCINNATI
Faizon Fields, MILWAUKEE
Yaxel Lendeborg, BIRMINGHAM
Brooks Barnhizer, NORTHWESTERN
Lok Wur, GRAND CANYON
