THE Official 2024 PGA Tour Season Thread
I don't have a fancy OP or anything. But now that we are in 2024, and are back to calendar schedules instead of the reach-around schedule, its time for a new thread.
Suck it Wyndham.
imagine having the same name as a familiar hotel chain
and still pretending to charge hard core for the mini-bar
last time i checked the clark bar market it was down over a million and nobody was predicted win them
Aberg up to #6 DG
Theegala #13
incredible
Very curious to see what comes out of the talks in the Bahamas. If anyone can put together golf's version of the Molotov-Ribbontrop pact it's Jay Monahan.
odds to win the Valspar after the cut
Those odds did not age well for JT.
on friday JT was pulling everything left off the tee into trash locations and somehow found a way to score with his scrambling. it was unsustainable.
they just mentioned how many double eagles have been scored on Tour since '83 (there was another one today). i couldn't belive the total number.
anyone who didn't see the answer care to hazard a guess?
Basketball sucks but the end of this has been good. Go Malnati
Malnati balled on the Snake Pit. GG.

my initial guess is less than thirty
but the inertia to make you posit the question makes me wonder
classic case of choose your own adventure
I'm gonna go with 7.
I'm pretty sure Harry Higgs made one like 2 or 3 years ago.
I remember one double eagle at the Masters. I'm gonna guess 80. A little over two a year.
I remember louis oost's at the masters. I think its about a 40% chance for a hole in one in a tournament. Most players would get I suppose about 2 double eagle opportunities in a round and generally a much harder shot that a par 3, and also they mostly wouldn't be going at the pin. So I'd cut it down to one a round, so that is a 10% chance in a tournament and reduce to 2.5% for the considerable extra difficulty. 40 tournaments a year for 40 years, 1600 x .025 = 40.
counting the double-eagle from this past weekend, there have been 139 double-eagles on Tour since 1983
the one scored this weekend was the third of the current season
I witnessed Freddy Couples make one in the 1993 World Cup of Golf at Lake Nona.
Also made one myself about 10 years ago, although it was a short par 5 and I used a 7 iron.
Pulling for a Scottie W this week. Would be electric.
