Jr went BIG today. Told me he was going to hit a kicker in this tree cluster and I was thinking here comes the ollie barely off the ground. Dude zips through the tree, comes out the other side and is AIRBORNE. Easily got more air than he is tall and went quite the distance.
Confirmed. I hit the same kicker twice and did not get as much air as Jr. I was behind him and literally said "holy shyt" when I saw it. The kid is progressing really well. And yeah, had that jabroni not been in the landing area, he rides it out all day.
I skied today... at Key.... as well. Mostly off the Summit Express lift; mainly Santa Fe bump run. Alas, no air for me.
Well shyt, had we known you were making a rare Saturday appearance we could have gotten in some laps.

I think you meant a Jumanji, not a jabroni. 😃
Yeah, I'm familiar with your disdain for hazy IPAs. Fwiw, I fully believe the brewery matters. I haven't had a proper good one outside of the northeast. Many try, and all of them fail. Colorado has a ton of them (WeldWerks, New Image, New Terrain, 4-noses), and they all miss the mark by a large margin.
Whereas the northeast has Treehouse (best in show), Trilium, Alchemist, Fiddlehead, and Grimm, just to name a few, that are all top notch. The worst representation among this group is still better
AZ has one from "The Shop" called Church Music IPA. It was last year's find and I brought packs for Christmas. I like how gentle and mellow it tastes.
Been doing the Lent thing, and I haven't really missed alcohol, but man I miss the taste of good beer. Had wings without beer and it was just a travesty, so I tried a couple of non-alcoholic craft beers. They didn't taste bad, exactly, but they didn't taste like beer. More like grapefruit juice mixed with the water you boiled brown rice in.
The only NA beer that I sort of like is Sam Adams Just The Haze. It's as close to an IPA as I've found. The rest have mostly been a dumpster fire. I don't even bother anymore. Now, I run through a case of La Croix a day.
Try Athletic Ale. They brew it normal and then remove the good part.
Lent will end in good but not great territory. about 8 lbs down. I have reached the awkward part of the year where I'm like I should just do Lent all year round. . . oh wait I say this every year and then comes the prime rib and the cabernet. 😊
Yeah, Athletic is the one I tried that came closest. Still didn't really taste like beer.
Doesn't keystone close fairly early in the season? I read that their projected closing day is April 7th. We'll be switching to Breck pretty soon, I imagine.
I'll be skiing Abasin into May. If we switch back to Ikon, we get WP days starting 4/1 this season as well.
Key closes next Sunday.
Donatello, how are you accessing abasin till may? i dont see spring passes for them any more?
only @ 55 days - zero weekends and missed a bunch cuz olds hurt real bad. Starting weekend skiing april 6

I bought a 5-day pass at the beginning of the season and have saved all but 1 day so far. I'm heading there tomorrow, hoping to give a chute or two a go on the east wall.
garick, i petition to reopen that thread that appeared just on the verge of becoming a real banger
I basically never watch any basketball and certainly never the college stuff but it randomly found itself on my TV this morning.
that fat kid from NC State was really good fun to watch

Hiked the east wall at abasin today. Made it to 13k' feet and bagged first notch. It was rocky af, which made for tough skiing bc you're threading the needle for a couple of turns, rinse and repeat. No backflips before I turn 40, but I got into the chutes.
Donatello - At yer advancing age if you are cereal about learning how to backflip on skis, I would advise taking a trip to Park City this summer and doing some water ramping. They have daily drop ins and I happen to know the guy that runs the program. He is truly a great guy and has a highly skilled staff. Its ballpark 120 per day. I assume you can toss backflips on a tramp. If so you will b greasing them in no time on skis.
i can't read the word greasing and not think of unsanitary handjobs
Pretty sure everything makes you thing of handjobs
the real answer is even better - some gov orgs legit said that people should use glory holes
I have a new toy.
edit: not that ^
