a lot! I would recommend only aging huge slabs of meat, and not aging the ribs. I cut off 1/2" on all sides but the end slices were still dark and tough. Fortunately gramps and I like it that way.
my bro has an entire leg of iberian ham in his kitchen and he said it's a bad purchase because unless you eat it every day, you need to go through a pretty rigorous process of covering it up between uses and then trimming off mold before each fresh cut
nice edit, I genuinely thought it was a glory hole reference as well until I clicked your spoiler
still could be for anyone who hasn't clicked who is reading about meat loss to the mold trim

Donatello - At yer advancing age if you are cereal about learning how to backflip on skis, I would advise taking a trip to Park City this summer and doing some water ramping. They have daily drop ins and I happen to know the guy that runs the program. He is truly a great guy and has a highly skilled staff. Its ballpark 120 per day. I assume you can toss backflips on a tramp. If so you will b greasing them in no time on skis.
I already told him to just send it. That’s all the coaching he needs. Pro advice if you ask me.
Been doing the Lent thing, and I haven't really missed alcohol, but man I miss the taste of good beer. Had wings without beer and it was just a travesty, so I tried a couple of non-alcoholic craft beers. They didn't taste bad, exactly, but they didn't taste like beer. More like grapefruit juice mixed with the water you boiled brown rice in.
That sounds like the last IPA I tried.
@skwidz, I'd certainly like to give it a shot. I talk with Mrs turtle about going to the Woodward barn at Copper to hit up the foam pit. But the pool sounds more fun. I can throw front and back flips on tramps and diving boards, but have never tried with skis. My left shoulder is holding on by a thread, so I definitely need to get it down before throwing one on snow.
Sweet I hope you decide to come out. I got SPC pretty into the park and she is fired up to do some ramping this summer. If you come out we could set up a private session.
Funny you should say that. Just ended lent and grabbed a local IPA in Chattanooga that basically tasted the same as the NA one. I guess they emulated a bad IPA well.
Lent ended for me with an "Extra Pale Ale" from one Mad River Brewing. Not sure what it meant as there were no extras at the end. I liked it though.
An Extra Pale Ale is basically the British name for what we usually call an American Pale Ale. British Pale Ales aren't anywhere near as pale as American ones, and are only pale in comparison to the standard British Bitters. Since they use extra pale malts, British EPAs are about as pale as APAs, so to have an American brewery use the term EPA is a bit weird. I presume they use British malts and/or hops, but it might just be a marketing decision.
I think you already know, sir..
Turtle let’s hit Woodward up. Jr has been begging me to go there, and honestly I need to get in there so I can start spinning. I don’t know wtf is wrong with me and not being able to spin on a board. I could probably get on skis now and throw that ish down, but a board… durr durrr
went over to my dad's place and grabbed 3 bikes
going to work on all three and pick a winner
the newest and one in the best shape is a dahon - the foldable variety but it's only a few years old
the one that will suit my size best is a univega from the 90s
the best bike is a marin from the aughts but could be a little small and is missing some important pieces - marin looks like a longer term project and frame seems too small for me anyway
so probably riding a foldable bike across the country or a univega from the 90s, a big part of the decision is just how rough the trails will be because the dahon will not fare well if we have genuine mountain bike trails
dood, april fools day was yesterday
this idea is stupid on so many levels it is almost comical.
you will spend at least 18 days on this thing going 3700 miles. Do not b a moran
get a decent bike that actually fits your body that will function reasonably for that distance.

I heard from a well regarded coach that in this type of situation one should "just send it"
I am a proud pupil of the AcePlayerDeluxe school of Just Send It.
Before I joined his class, I was a nonbeliever.
But after failing to land a goofy 1080 at least 2 times, I decided enough was enough. I ponied up for 10 hours of one on one coaching.
I explained my problem and the desired result. Ace sat there quietly taking it all in. After I finished speaking, he sat there without saying a word for what felt like an eternity. Eventually, he spoke up and said the most profound thing I have ever heard.
“Miami, have you thought about ‘just sending it’?”
Instantly, like a wave the truth washed over me. “Just send it” I repeated quietly to myself.
Ace noticed that I finally understood, tossed me the first warm bud light that we’d share over the remaining 9 hours and 57 minutes.
I don’t remember if I sent the goofy 1080 the next day but I sure felt like I did.

Can't stress the above enough. If you're putting in any sort of distance, you need a proper bike. It doesn't have to be new, but better than what is in your post. I can't recommend getting a bike fit enough either. Pay for a decent saddle, too.
just be glad i'm not using my old ride in Beijing
how i biked long distances in thailand - also did a similar 30 mile bike ride from downtown to the killing fields when I was in cambodia
took this bad boy from augsburg to venice up and over the alps
