so now you posters can pay attention to genomes that aren't auriemma?
that Hansbrough title team was something
Roy's best
Zach Edey 120 points and 65 rebounds this tournament, still maybe 2 more games to play
200 and 100 would be a stretch but that would be insane and never happen again
NCAA tournament records Edey could break if Purdue advances to Monday night:
Most points (Glenn Rice 184) - Edey needs to average above 32 ppg at the F4
Most points per game (Austin Carr 52.7) - Edey would have to average 99 points per game at the F4 to break Austin Carr's record
Most rebounds (Tom Gola 102) - Edey needs to average 19 re
Update:
140 points 77 rebounds heading into Monday night.
Edey needs 60 points and 23 rebounds in the national championship game to post the first ever 200 / 100 in NCAA tourney history.
45 points to break Glenn Rice's scoring record.
26 rebounds to topple Gola's rebound record.
16 attempts and 18 makes for the free throw crown.
In my lifetime of watching college basketball, I think EDEY is the best player I've seen. ZION is up there, Beasley was awesome, Blake Griffin was awesome. But Edey tops them all I think.
KD and Zion are still the two best individual talents in college, but they didn't stay long enough to accomplish anything.
I'm fascinated to see this matchup tomorrow night.
I'm not sure that either UConn or Purdue have played an opponent (maybe UConn vs. Creighton and Kalkbrenner) who are comfortable playing the big man one on one when he touches the ball and not laughing at how easy it will be.
I feel like the normal rhythms of these offenses might be thrown off for a bit. I trust Edey to score better than Clingan with back to the basket touches, but I don't think Edey will just be an auto bucket/foul if he gets a good catch against Clingan.
Sounds like this might actually be happening for Norlander to be reporting it. Christmas in April for Kentucky fans?
Looks like this might actually be happening??
For the best it it happens. Next year was going to be unbelievably toxic if he stayed. Going to be a complete rebuild though.
...and apparently its final...well that was wild
so Oats to UK?
I wonder who the realistic candidates are outside of Oats?
It is a lot easier to write a big check to someone you want to coach, than write a big check to a coach you don't like to stop coaching.
I agree, but in both cases the predominant overriding factor is that billionaires are misers that don't cut checks to people for $18M just because. Won't be surprised when the bill comes due this guy will be wondering if maybe everyone else could chip in instead. None of this matters because the AD is too dumb to call Oats. They'll get Drew. It may cause a riot.
Wikipedia already has it done
They should send Stevens a blank contract and let him fill in the number.
