LFC_USA was talking to me about this just earlier today, being a big fan of it himself.
I say **** it, do it. Make it a TNT Special with theme songs where team captains choose their opponent. Think of all the commercial money they'd make.
Would make the regular season matter more also.. because sometimes you have an injury riddled team be a real threat as a lower seed, and there's nearly always posturing with seeding every year.
Would also add to the awesomeness/hilarity factor if the #1 seed picks a team and then loses to them.

Monk can be Ginobili role off the bench, plus start on nights when LeBron needs to take a game off or there's a nagging injury for Giannis or Wemby.
Not sure about cap situation but maybe they can sign Bruce Brown too! Or maybe Klay wants to join the party and signs with the Spurs! LeBron + Klay is kind of a "winning basketball" cheat code!
