TSLA showing cracks?

TSLA showing cracks?

With TSLA going in the past few days from 130 to 110 and now back up to 120, it seems the market is a bit on edge about this stock. They report earnings on the 23rd, and with the incredible run up it's had in the past 3 months (40-->120) I get the feeling that if they don't blow people away this stock has the potential to crack pretty violently.

With articles coming every day for and against TSLA, I generally believe it to be vastly overblown stock. They are never going to be able to sell enough cars at $80k to be extremely profitable, and 5 years is a long time to wait with no profits for the time they supposedly have a $40k model that will ready for mainstream.

Thoughts?

not holding my breath yet, but looks like there might actually be a point at which atleast some people might not believe the lies and made-up products of the drugged-up ceo anymore.

What? Have you not heard about V12—the latest iteration of Autopilot? It's amazing. Miles ahead of anything anyone else has. And Neuralink is poised to revolutionize cognition itself. The TAM for Neuralink is in the hundreds of trillions. And have you forgotten about the Semi? Talk about disruptive! Billions of dollars of goods are trucked across the country EVERY DAY. Now imagine it moving in Tesla trucks, using the industry-leading charging network, running on Tesla Autopilot—that's JILLIONS of dollars. Plus Optimus is making incredible strides in a very short period of time. And with advancements in AI, we could literally be any day from general intelligence robots, and Optimus is poised to lead the way. You doubted the Cybertuck, and now they're selling in droves. Production-constrained. Alright, I'm bored of this now, but you get the point. TSLA will go down when interest rates start to bite or there's a general market sell-off, or a truly horrible quarter. Otherwise I think it just diverges slightly down from the overall market over time. Remember that most of its flows are just from people piling into index funds, of which it is now a significant component.

it's -35% ytd with nasdaq +10%

i don't expect it to track the overall market that closely going forward. its beta is already 2, and things will get crazier as either

a) wider public absorbs the fact he's not that smart, always on drugs, does not have midas touch in any of the 35 industries he's taking shots in, winners emerge (not him) in AI/robotics/FSD, is basically adam neumann on steroids (-30-65% next 2 years)

or b) he announces he's personally traveling to the moon and will drive on the surface in a cybertruck, which rockets tsla to multi-trillion market cap bc why not

The Rivian R2/R3 looks so ****ing cool. Tesla is def finished unless Elon comes up with some new scam. I work in a rich town and I see so many Rivians now.

Saw a cybertruck in person the other day, looks dope af. Just looked at pics of rivian r2/r3, looks super generic.

Guessing she was drunk and accidentally gunned it when trying to brake while looking backwards.

3 times over the legal alcohol driving limit, according to the WSJ.

I predict Tesla will sell 2.2-2.3M cars in 2024. I think this is a big slowing down of the demand and all of it virtually due to the meltdown in the economy in China.
If Tesla sells 1/3 in NA, 1/3 in Europe and 1/3 in China last year; this year will be (my guess) 40% growth in NA, 40% growth in Europe and 0% (flat) in China.
No change in my long term outlook for Tesla stock. Will be testing FST 13.3 this week.
I posted several months ago with my argument for the economy (and symptom ghost cities) in the China thread and have had no replies.

12.3? My feed might be polluted but I've never seen the kind of reaction that is currently happening to this version of FSD. It almost seems like a completely new product they seem to have made so much progress in 12. Elon said the whole thing is now 'end-to-end neural nets'.

Do you think its the game changer that it seems?

lol

yeah, this version is gonna be the one. for sure. lmao.

tesla shareholder should probably think about suing their own CEO for poaching tesla's AI engineers for his non-tesla AI startup. but what do i know. lol.

Canceling plans for the Model 2: https://www.reuters.com/business/autos-t.... Cybertruck set them back big time. Tesla is officially all-in on robotaxis.

R&D for robo taxis will take years. There's no way they can sustain long enough until that comes to fruition.

TSLA stock must not be doing that good to see Elon doing pumps again.

New carrot released.

Seems unlikely they have the regulatory backing to allow random people to use their Tesla's as robotaxis or for random people to use other rando's Tesla's as robotaxis. Best I could see is it getting released in a few choice markets and even that would be incredibly questionable.

Early prediction on the "unveil" being a presentation about how you can pay your Tesla off in 3 years of Robotaxi'ing but you just need to pressure your local lawmaker to allow it to happen.

crazy thing is he was doing that early prediction 4 years ago.

I realize he's always made these insane marketing claims. Like way beyond exaggeration, way past anything any marketer in their right mind would claim, and this is more of the same. There has to be some limit, will he ever face consequences? Last I checked, TSLA is on level 2 of driving automation and has never attempted to produce a taxi.

Maybe the robo taxi is a seperate vehicle entirely? I assumed it would be just the normal teslas.

That's been the claim since 2016 or 2018. They don't have very good self driving capability and have no ongoing public taxi trials I'm aware of.

probably not legal. i see tsla petering out in the next couple years but if he's smart he'll just make a few more announcements of announcements and cash out with each pump. enough people in the media sufficiently hate him now so the netflix takedown exposes probably drop within a year. just a question of whether they'll portray him as a total fraud from the start or evil drugs destroyed his genius mind.

he'll never fully lose his faithful following though. some see themselves in his weirdoness, others just need to believe in a god. he'll probably continue to form vaporware initiatives and raise billions on them well into the future. he's like someone who binked a couple big MTTs and now sells out pieces at 2.5x markup.

Robotaxi regulators say Tesla hasn’t contacted them about plans teased by Musk, Tesla hasn’t applied for permits it would need.

That either means 1) Tesla has no intent to let FSD pass Level 2 (because of the liability issue maybe?), or 2) they think autonomy is so far away that they aren't even thinking about talking to regulators at this point in time.

It means, if Elon's still fooling you at this point, shame on you.

laid off 10% of workforce

seems like the novelty is off these things a little, if just 1 or 2 US manufacturers could come out with anything remotely close in quality then a real dent in sales growth would occur

i see wayyyy more rivians around than 1-2 yrs ago

I saw my first cyber truck yesterday. It was leaving Rocky Mountain National Park. Looked like **** lmao.

Looks like the robotaxi pump didn't work this time. Maybe people are finally wizening up to the grift.

even if cybertruck was a hit, whats the point?

you cant sell very many of those a year, has no mass market appeal, not like the road is going to be filled with them

just a vanity project?
