For an off-strip Wellington, try Main St Provisions -- they may only have it one night a week though (if memory serves)

I didn't love the Wellington at HK, it was ok but definitely not up to the hype. Thought the short rib was way better honestly...

Oh come on! You are so nice to so many places and you don’t like the Wellington. I feel like it’s the cool thing to not like Hell’s Kitchen but I think it’s super touristy and also proves touristy doesn’t always mean bad. I’ve been there 15 times, mostly at a discount or free, but the service is always good to great, atmosphere is cool, and the food is just so much better than it needs to be. Obviously if you want the absolute best of Ramsay you go to London, but he also has really nailed the perfect vibe and food for a nice night out in vegas.

Lobster risotto is beyond killer btw.

I've only been 4 times, but I think meh encapsulates HK. Great location and as you said the staff is good and a great atmosphere, but the food is just ok. I will say it's very consistent, ime.

It's been a while, but I'll suggest Bardot for the Wellington. The recent mention of Delilah might be worth a look. Both are pricey, though.

Well I guess if we are on subject of tourist traps, Wellington is fantastic at Eiffel Tower. It’s probably my wife’s favorite restaurant in vegas because of the atmosphere and service, but some of the dishes are top notch French food: filet with foie in a red wine reduction is perfect. Prices on wine are maybe the worst in vegas though, and it’s the most stereotypical French menu but sometimes that is perfect.

Any recommendations for a tasting menu experience where the highlights or main focus isn't around say seafood?

I feel like some of the fancier places my wife wouldn't enjoy some of the courses that are more adventurous with seafood/sushi/raw fish? outside of shrimp/lobster as she isn't a big fish person. We'd like to get a good value, but I wouldn't like to have to eat double of all the courses that don't align with her. Other than that we enjoy most other things. We'll be out there next week and are looking to find something. I have shown her some of the various posts from here in the past and the idea of the experience she likes other than being faced w/ having to pass on certain courses.

Bazaar Meat, but it depends on your definition of adventurous.

Yep this is the spot, you aren’t going to get a better rec

Ehh...I feel like things like tartare, roe, other raw things is where she'd want to pass it off. Although fish in general isn't something she really enjoys. And I'm not saying I exactly enjoy everything, but I would try itfor the experience, but wouldn't necessarily like to be defaulted to try everything 2x especially if I wasn't a fan.

Thanks for the recommendation I'll check it out.

I thought Hell’s Kitchen was 9/10 but out of everything we ordered the Wellington was my least favorite. The short rib and lobster risotto were 10/10. I’d give the Wellington a 7-7.5/10

You're obviously paying for more than the food. I've only been for brunch, which isn't a bad deal for $60. No complaints on the food or the staff. The drinks were just ok.

Still a little surprised at the love for HK. I will say that the NY strip was perfectly cooked, but not very flavorful. I've had the short rib, but don't remember it. The risotto is decent. I will admit that you will see at least 50 beef wellington's being served over the course of a meal. I'd describe it as well executed, uninspired food. Again, the atmosphere, location, and staff are great.

I’m trying to think of other Vegas restaurants that were touristy and guaranteed to be packed every night. Tao, Hakkasan, top of the world, mon ami gabi, n9ne back in the day, giada, maybe even Delilah’s. All of these places that had big waitlists and either the service would suffer or for a few the food was always subpar.

I get what wj is saying though, I’ve been to two restaurants that you had to include beforehand that you were ordering the Wellington and I would add give me the dead center piece that is still mooing.

Went to Bazaar Meat with a friend Friday night. Food was amazing, 9/10. We had the Spanish Iberico ham, patata bravas, the fois gras cotton candy and we both had the bone-in strip loin Charolais/Angus blend with mashed potatoes. Meat was excellent, the only dish I didn’t like was the potatoes but that comes down to personal preference.

I really loved the food at Bazaar Meat the two times I went. However the tasting menu is a very long meal, and I got smashed the second time with the wine pairing. I want to go back and do their normal menu, not the tasting.

The steak was perfect in every way, not too fat and medium rare. Probably one of the best steaks I’ve had in a long time.

a dollop each of alioli and tomate jelly atop hash browned hockey pucks
nothing left for tu madre to love

much prefer more rustic patatas bravas
bonus if washed with lava yolk

following pic snipped from a non-vegas place
recent meal yielded similar results
cooked in cast iron with ample butter

I love that bazaar meat pic where they display the middle of the steak. I think I just talked myself into the tasting menu in 2 months.

RED, that looks amazing although I am looking forward to Jaleo and their sauce in place of the egg.

I haven't had it, but will stand by their food, Best Friend.

You can create a better menu for the same money or less as the tasting menu at bazaar meat imo.

If it’s your first time there get:

Ferran Adria Olives
Cotton Candy Foie Gras
Jamon or Jose’s Taco
Bagels & Lox Cone or Caviar Cone
Smoke Oysters
Classic Tartare

Split whatever main course meats and sides you want

No matter what, everyone should be going to Bazaar Meat though. It’s absolutely one of the best restaurants in Vegas.

This is pretty much the tasting menu.

Yeah, the pricing on the tasting menu doesn’t make sense though, as it would be cheaper to order the exact same items a la carte. So even better to just order what you want.

I haven’t made this move before, but multiple people have said tell them what you want to spend and dislikes and they will make something great. Tomato tartare is a must imo

This is $111. The ribeye is $98 for two people. The tasting menu is like 12 items for $205 and this is 7 for $160.

Also, zboiii asked for a tasting menu and you said that you can create a much better menu.... by giving the tasting menu? Maybe I'm wrong, but I don't think that the price was a factor. Also, for at least one party where adventurous dining might be an issue, then sharing might not be much of an option here.

Thinking about taking family to Edo while they are out for a few days during WSOP. A couple of questions for those who have been that I couldn't glean from Yelp reviews.

What is the noise level during dinner? A couple people in the group don't do well in loud places.

Has anyone done the wine pairing? I saw a review that said the base pairing was just a glass with the first half and a glass with the second half of the meal, as opposed to a true pairing, but that seemed odd so I wanted to confirm.

Thanks to all for their reviews in this thread, I wouldn't find places like Edo without it!

Edo's great, but it's been years since I've been so no idea if it's the same. I don't remember its being loud (we usually notice that -- hate it -- not sure why Americans are so darn loud) and I remember more than two glasses of wine 😉
