I heard he got a settlement from the hospital that damaged his head with forceps at birth.

He donated his hair at an early age.

What was the minimum wage 15 years ago?

At $4 an hour, it would take 10,000 hours to gross $40,000.

Interest rates during the period were < 1%.

So it is not from investment income.

But I’m not a dealer

How do you explain the difference in levels of success between me and you? We are in the same line of work yet I’m ~10x more successful, why is that?

Bigger tits?

$40k invested into the S&P 500 15 years ago would be $244k today.

are we going to have a tit off?

A 14yo with 40k in the bank that wasn’t gifted to him by family. He earned and saved that much on his own. Lol.

People just making **** up.

I heard he was mayor of his town at 15yo and rode a dragon to school.

He earned that 40k by age 14 the old fashion way. While all his classmates were having fun at lunch Rice was tirelessly roaming the playground collecting discarded plastic bottles.

Before and after school he would also go through all the neighbourhood trash in search of valuable bottles that had been foolishly thrown out.

At $0.05 a piece you would have to return 800,000 cans.

FWIW, I lived in bronx, NY at 14 (1997) and had a work permit, working at the Barbershop cleaning up. From 14-15, the maximum hours you were allowed to work was 20/week and you couldn't work after 8pm until you were 16, then the threshold was 28 hours until 9pm, restrictions were taken off at 18, or 17 with written consent in front of a school guidance counselor on you and the parents behalf.

a mere 800,000 bottles

but in all seriousness, my first jobs were in food service and we often did big events with lots of people

everything normally went into the trash but i'd make a special effort to setup big trash cans and label it "bottles and cans" and it worked pretty well as many of the hundreds of people would throw them in there instead of the trash

when work was over, i'd get my parents to pick me up in their minivan, which i'd absolutely fill to the brim with these bags of bottles and cans

i'd then get them to take me into the recycling center and from that huge bonanza get about $30

Hoping you diversified those bonanza funds

Amateur hour. You clearly have not figured out the trick of getting those bottles and cans to michigan and earning double. Tricks like this is what seperates the super successful "middle class" 14 year olds from the rest.

Hahaha but only on Mothers Day, the mother of all mail days. And only if you know someone employed by the United States Postal Service who has access to an empty truck.

Otherwise you overload your inventory and blow your margins on gasoline, trust me it doesn't work.

Oh, I thought you said 44 year old

The IQ of Homer with the vile repulsiveness of Newman, and a level of smugness that has never been seen before.

I find Rice's 'Poker Sucks' series some of his more inciteful material.
Also: It looks like Rice is off to another min wage year playing poker.
Also: Rice is so annoyed these 'results' videos are popular.

Wow shocking. So the only hands that give action to Diesel are strong better hands and draws? Who would have thought that? Diesel is the worst at game selection. It must really suck that your hourly relies so heavily on promos and not on your poker skill.

This is what I don't think "Big Poppa" has addressed. Diesel is barely a winning player in the last two years, with almost his entire winrate of ~$6-8/hr coming from promos and comps, not actually winning at poker. This is at the lowest possible stakes. Rake keeps increasing every year, games are getting tougher, and Diesel actively puts 0 effort into studying, reviewing hands with other experienced players, or other ways to improve his winrate. He just gives these bad beat stories every month in a vlog.

Again I am happy that he is dealing now, because his poker "career" has been over for the last two years in that a "career" needs to be able to pay you at least minimum wage and pay your bills.

this is the worst video ever

This was all an elaborate scheme to draw in business for a B rate casino based on a novelty dealer.

Adding the orleans to my schedule this summer.

Not necessarily. My friend's wife chose U. Baltimore on scholarship over better name schools and it was likely a smart choice for her. She graduated with no debt and got an OK job in Maryland (which she quit shortly thereafter to have kids). Point being, the Law is geographically limiting as a general matter. Unless you go to a "National School," you should go to a school

You're not paying attention. He didn't get big scholarships at name schools, or else he would've gone there. So it's massive debt or Nebraska. Does Diesel seem like the type to get into massive debt?

just an fyi to everyone

merit based scholarships at graduate schools, particularly law schools where it is expected that they'll earn back that money soon enough and can thus pay the bulk of it with loans, are exceedingly rare, the general concept the schools have in these situations is that the funds should be going to the underprivileged instead

so yes there are real world scenarios where the son of a surgeon in Omaha would pay full tuition at Cornell but get a free ride at the University of Nebraska and thus chooses Nebraska instead - however, that same kid when applying for law school is now no longer likely to get a merit based scholarship and thus would be paying full tuition at both for law school

since coach diesel had a major networth all by the age of 7, he was going to be paying full tuition regardless of which law school he went

the most likely reason for going to law school there is that was the best school that he got accepted into

It's still moot because he didn't want to be a lawyer. It didn't really matter which school he went to.

Of course some people have no intention of being a lawyer but they still want to learn the law. A friend of mine that was an engineer went to law school because he wanted to work as a patent attorney. No bar exam, never enter a courtroom, you work for a high-tech company and mostly do research. It's technically a lawyer, but not the typical type that hangs a sheepskin.

Rice no doubt is being hired by the Orleans as a poker dealer cause of his celebrity status.
I expect the Orleans will promote Rice extensively and expect their summer tournament series to be a smashing success.

Does anyone else find if hard to believe that in a 4 day period he ran Kings into Aces 3 times? That seems pretty far fetched to me, granted I don’t put in the tremendous volume like the Rice man.
