Zionism is the notion that Jews should go to Judea, homeland, make Aliyah. What does it mean when a Christian is a Zionist? Of course they don't want to expel Jews from Israel, they want to expel Jews from the United States and expel us to Israel.

I think that's true, but as rational men it would be nice to see actual data on this from an org that doesn't have a history of conflating legitimate criticism of Israel with antisemitism.

Most physical injuries to Jewish and Palestinian students at the moment are being delivered by the police and it's not close.

“By any means necessary” doesn’t mean using violence. It’s about protesting peacefully about how great the resistance (Hamas) is.

“Go back to Poland you k***s” is just them wanting Jews to enjoy a vacation in Europe.

What the Hamas leader actually said was that if Israel acceded to a laundry list of completely unreasonable demands that are non starters, it would adhere to a 5 year truce (which it probably wouldn't anyways).

The amusing thing about the "Jewish safety" discussion that Microbet has already brought up, is that seeing how the police in the South are dealing with student protestors, most progressive American Jews (who tend to end up on the protesting side on pretty much every other issue) would probably feel more safe in Ivy League Universities dealing with the SJP crowd.

I will apply reasonable scrutiny to any claims any org puts out. The ADL has done tremendously good work in the past confronting racist creeps like you and I support that.

most countries in that area are ethnostates, if Israel at 80% jews from 100+ different countries (so not the same ethnically actually) is an ethnostate.

can someone explain to me how israeli jews can be considered a single ethnicity racially, their ancenstors lived separatedly for 1k++ years, unlike say egyptians arab ancestors .

I'm willing to be convinced of a wave of campus antisemitism. It's happened before. I just haven't seen the evidence. I've seen one case where somebody said we're all Hamas here, and even that was debatable.

There were quite a few large Seders; you've seen the pictures. I call that solid evidence that many Jews are not discomfited by the campus protests.

Edit: thought about your post some more. I understand that the issue is painful to your community. I'm sure many family Seders this week devolved into shouting, as there is a big generational gap. But I'm not going to oppose advocacy for Palestine over the pain.

Yes, it is reasonable to worry that anger over the Gaza offensive could bleed into antisemitism. But it needs to be tested against the evidence. There were actual assaults on Sikhs, so their fears were understandable. Have assaults happened to Jews on campus? I don't know of any.

West Bank and Gaza residents are denied citizenship in the state that rules over them. Fixing that would mean Israel no longer having a Jewish majority. Should people stop advocating for Palestinian rights because it makes Zionists uncomfortable? BGP, are you willing to throw Palestinians under the bus over this?
