Am I the only one who thinks the Eagles deliberately hid the AJ Brown extension behind draft news coverage so nobody would ask why they need to pay two WR top dollar on top of their $51mil AAV QB?
Might still be a smart deal if they feared AJ would demand a trade without a new contract once JJ/CeeDee/Chase reset the market.

Matt Wohlfarth, owner of the apparently very popular Dilworth Neighborhood Grille in Charlotte, put a big sign out front of his grille, jokily calling on Tepper to "Please Let The Coach [and] GM Pick This Year." Tepper drove by, stopped into the Grille, and put on his best middle-school vice principal act, grilling (grilleing?) a Dilworth employee about the sign. He even removed the employee's Eagles hat before leaving after about 45 seconds.
Wohlfarth told the Charlotte Observer that Tepper was friendly, though he also said it wasn't the first time Tepper has stopped in to complain about a sign Wohlfarth has put up making fun of the Panthers owner. From the Observer:
Just after [the] season ended, in mid-January, Wohlfarth said he posted a message on his property—that is visible from East Morehead Street—“Meddling owners never win. Run from Jerry Jones.”
“And he was sorta pissed off about that one,” Wohlfarth said.
Why?
“Well, he’s a meddling owner,” Wohlfarth said.

Then, gesturing toward a group of fans assembled nearby, Goodell said, "And I don't think these guys like it either." He continued: "The reality is, I'd rather replace a preseason game with a regular-season game any day. That's just picking quality. If we get to 18 and 2, that's not an unreasonable thing."
Translating from Goodell bullshit to regular English we get the following:
Pretty soon we'll add an 18th regular season game and scrap a preseason game. We're also extending the season by one week and play the SuperBowl on President's Day weekend.
Curious if that means a second bye week to make the added international travel easier. I expect every team to play at least one international game per season more often than not in the short term future.

They just have to make sure the new kickoff rules result in fewer injuries and higher scoring games.

I think they probably just got it done due to the Amon-Ra deal, because as you said JJ/CeeDee/Chase will get it to $35m+ per. Don't think anyone is asking why they'd want two stud receivers to go along with their good QB for the next five years, seems like that's something every team would want.

I’d guess once they did Slim Reaper they knew they had to make AJ highest paid on the team

the cold hard truth tho is it should be 16 games + 2 bye weeks (for the health of the players)
And I'm cool with that too. Two bye weeks should've been implemented yeas ago since it is way easier to consume any game you want to. Honestly think 16 was the perfect number as was 6 playoff teams instead of 7.
NFL has yet to realize less is more. You make every game a big deal and all week people are talking about it. There's a reason baseball becomes less and less relevant to the public.

Man, I really was hoping Tepper was actually pissed about this, but the video released by the restaurant tells a little bit of a different story. Still want him to become the ultimate villain though and keep throwing drinks on fans.
