Pretty belittling imo, but at least you're consistent. I doubt the others are.

That's what happens once you learn some human biogeography

Borders are theft. Anyone should be able to go to any country.

What does that have to do with someone having a concept of a homeland?

the holocaust happened therefore the Palestinians should suffer. its just such a ludicrous argument.

Probably why no one is making that argument.

by Bluegrassplayer

Remind me who tried to rid the world of Celts in the 20th century.

What's the statute of limitations here? Multiple Celtic peoples have had their homelands occupied, do they not have the same right to claim these lands?

I think it's safe to say the further back, the less claim.

google slippery slope fallacy.

by Luckbox Inc

That isn't really true. I don't have a homeland unless you want to call it California.

Or America.

Story about how BS the (((Soros))) paying protestors story is.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/...

Which is not that surprising coming from a rag like the NY Post which is owned by a vile antisemite.

I was born abroad. Where's my homeland?

Were you born and raised there, or raised from an infant in the UK? You could also regard two countries as your homeland if you have relatives in the country of your birth. Point being people tend to have countries they call home, even if you think it's a hopelessly archaic concept. Are you one of those abolish borders types?

So whatever arbitrary, ad hoc rules you're inventing right now only apply to one people.

There's been a long, coordinated effort to stamp out Celtic languages and cultures that's more modern than you probably realize. I guess they now have the sacred right to beat up other people?

by Bluegrassplayer

I think you should.

you are justifying Israel bc of the holocaust. thats literally your point.

theres no slippery slope, the bad thing happened. the slope was slid down. at least for the Palestinians.

oh ok but now I see it. those arent real people to the Supremacists like yourself.

Plough

That Soros story is fuel for the Jews-will-not-replace-us crowd in the US. Can you imagine spreading it and thinking you are supporting Jewish people?

They are not ad hoc. They are not invented. They do not apply to only one people.

Tell me about the modern day Celtic holocaust.

I would love to see you show a Native American the Celtic map and laugh at their claims to stolen homeland.

You are a horrible judge of what arguments are. You need to google slippery slope fallacy and actually try to understand it.

You are comparing Jews trying to find a home in a small area three years after the Holocaust to today's Celts claim to most of Europe over.. after what recent event was it that threatened to wipe out all of them and did murder millions of them again? Please remind me.

As for your constant slippery slope: Pointing out how dumb this comparison is does not excuse Israel for everything that they've done. If it did I would not be in here criticizing them would I?

Born and ~3 years there, most of rest of my life here.

If people can have several homelands it makes a mockery of some people's claims for Israel as their homeland though. "Preferred home" is more accurate.

"Homeland" if it exists is a fluid and mutable concept eg if some unthinkably bad thing happened in Ireland that meant an evacuation I hope you'd soon regard wherever you settled as your new homeland.

Yes I'm in favour of a border-free world, led by the US in this regard. Borders tend to create many more problems than they solve and even the best examples are pretty neutral.

Why?

Stop doing relative comparisons and looked at things from an absolute perspective.

What is bad?
Is this bad? Why? Why not?

by jalfrezi

Ireland >>>>>> unthinkably bad thing >>>>>>> new homeland

Europe >>>>>> Holocaust >>>>> Israel

Yes I'm in favour of a border-free world, led by the US in this regard.

What's your take on Jews in Israel then?

Pleas

you keep bringing up the holocaust as justification for Israel which necessarily is what it embodies and entails.

google slippery slope fallacy ffs. Quit telling me what my arguments are and address the actual arguments.

New homeland should have been shared by anyone living there, not ancient homeland through inherited birthright bs from thousands of years ago.
