University spokesperson John Beckman said a grade strike would go against the requirements in NYU’s faculty handbook, as well as violate the university’s agreements with the graduate student and adjunct faculty unions in a statement to WSN.“The university is committed to all students receiving their grades, and expects that everyone responsible for grading will complete their w

#ThePalestinans of Gaza are mostly broke, homeless people just trying to stay alive and feed their families. They're not a suicidal monolith like their leadership.
You are right, but it definitely creates a conundrum for modern liberal democracies fighting asymmetric warfare against totalitarian states, especially theocracies that preach submission to the collective.
Because everyone has learned that all gueriila forces need to do is not care about their own civilians, and they will win because the modern liberal democracy will have to choose between winning with lots of civilian death or just giving up, and so far they just give up.
thats all guerilla movements since forever.
luckily for you and Israel, this is one situation where you actually can just murder everyone and get away with it. unfortunately for you, it will cost too many Israeli lives to achieve that. maybe you guys should stop being pussys and get on with it?
My job isn't to motivate people with the threat of C's or worse. It's to teach them the Constitution. If they put in the work and don't get it, that's my problem. But I rarely have that problem.
Yeah. It seems grades are mostly an antiquated filtering mechanism to determine qualifications for future employment. And it seems the market has decided they aren't a particularly useful filter, and have been for the most part discounted.

That's not true. The other option is a teardown of Hamas and a long-term counterinsurgency operation. This is why Rafah has to be invaded, but that's all for naught if Israel doesn't rebuild Gaza.
I agree that a surgical counterterrorism effort is impossible with Hamas' usage of human shields, but that's why the way to defeat Hamas is on the ground. Not through the air.

Well, it only works if the attackers care more about the people than their own governments.
Obviously, when the Muslim Turks did all their many genocides and ethnic cleanses against Christians that killed millions and turned a diverse empire into a non diverse ethnostate (still ongoing), and the world responded with a protracted yawn; guerrilla forces had no leverage because the Turks didn't give a single flying **** about non Muslim Turkish civilians.
no thats not how it goes. thats not what happened in Vietnam. or Algeria. or Napoleanic Spain.
I am not making a value judgment btw.

That isn't how it goes becasue western liberal democracies dont act like Muslim totalitarian states.
The Turks decided Greeks couldn't live in their lands anymore, so they killed most of them and kicked the rest out. And the world looked on with a yawn.
If Western liberal democracies acted like this, any of those other conflicts (and Gaza) could have ended with similar results.
jesus you suck at comparison. like you are really bad.
were the Greeks indigenous to Turkey? what about the other situations that I brought up?
and yes liberal democracies do that stuff. I think we can all remember Nazi Germany
Hell yeah, another big win against Al Jazeera. You're always on the right side of history when your government is shutting down media outlets.

You respond to misinformation with good information, not by silencing the misinformation and giving it credibility.
Par for the course like the US getting RT taken down after the Ukraine invasion.

An overwhelming majority of Americans believe Israel should go ahead with an offensive in Rafah in order to end the war against Hamas, according to a new Harvard CAPS Harris poll.
The question posed to respondents is “should Israel move forward with an operation in Rafah to finish the war with Hamas, doing its best to avoid civilian casualties even though there will be casualties, or should it back off now and allow Hamas to continue running Gaza?”
In response, 72% say Israel should move forward with the operation while 28% say it should back off and allow Hamas to keep ruling Gaza.
Overall, 78% of poll participants say Hamas should be removed from power but are divided on what should come after, with 30% saying Israel should administer Gaza, 35% saying the Palestinian Authority should, and the other 35% saying a new authority should be established with the participation of Arab countries.
this is progress tbf. usually Israel just murders the reporters and their families. maybe they are getting soft.
The law gives senior government officials power to temporarily shutter foreign news networks on national security grounds for at least 45 days, but that period can be extended.
Israeli government officials have signaled that the the channel will be blocked until the conflict with Hamas is resolved. Al Jazeera has signaled that it could take legal action to fight the ban and remain on air.
So it says likely only during the war but we shall see
